Alfred Wegener was a German researcher, meteorologist and geophysicist. He is well known for his continental drift theory that he put forward. He did immense research and study and found many evidences of fossils found in the continents that claimed that continents were joined together to form a giant continent or super continent.
These fossils includes the fossils of Glossopteris, Mesosaurus, Cynognathus and Lystrosaurus. The findings of these fossils in continents have shown that continents have to be once joined together to form a super continent as the extensive oceans which is between these huge land masses forms or acts as a barrier for the fossils to transfer.
