Answer:

a= 17.69 m/s^2

Explanation:

Step one:

given data

A car accelerates uniformly from rest to 23 m/s

u= 0m/s

v= 23m/s

distance= 30m

Step two:

We know that

acceleration= velocity/time

also,

velocity= distance/time

23= 30/t

t= 30/23

t= 1.30 seconds

hence

acceleration= 23/1.30

accelaration= 17.69 m/s^2

Two gliders collide on a frictionless air track that is aligned along the x axis. Glider A has an initial velocity v0 and glider
LenaWriter [7]

Answer:

Explanation:

Applying conservation of momentum

mA v0 + 0 = mA x 12v0 + mB x 92v0

11 mA = - 92mB .

mA / mB = 92 / 11

mA : mB = 92 : 11.

Which isotope has 16 neutrons and is used to study nucleotides and nucleic acids?
qaws [65]
When naming isotopes, the number beside it indicates the mass number. Now mass number is the sum of protons and neutrons.

We know that the mass number of a stable Sulfur atom is 32, so  we can rule out C as an isotope. The atomic number of Sulfur is 16 and that means that there are 16 protons. Now if we subtract 16 from 33, then that means there are 17 neutrons. So we can rule out D.

Phosphorus on the other hand has an atomic number of 15. If we subtract 15 from 31 we will have 16. That means that Phosphorus-31 has 16 neutrons.

The answer would then be A. Phosphorus 31.

A student is investigating the differences between light waves and sound waves. The student does this by using a capsule filled
denis-greek [22]

Answer:

Explanation:

The investigation is on differences between light waves and sound waves. Because the light and sound are transmitted at a 30° angle at a capsule with glass and vacuum, questions asked should show difference answers for light and sound.

First and third question talk about liquid which is not related here.

Fouth and sixth prediction are wrong as electromagnetic wave will not slow down or speed up in vacuum.

That leaves the second and fifth set as correct answers:

question: How are electromagnetic waves and mechanical waves affected when traveling from a solid glass medium to a vacuum?

prediction: The electromagnetic waves will continue through the vacuum, while the mechanical waves will go no farther.

question: How is the speed of electromagnetic waves affected when traveling from a solid glass medium to a vacuum at a 30° angle?

prediction: The electromagnetic waves will travel in a straight line, showing that they have maintained a constant speed.
