What is the molarity of a solution made by dissolving 21.2 g of a sodium hydroxide (NaOH) in enough water to make 7.92 L of solu

Formula for molarity is

Molarity=moles of solvent/solution in liters

In given data

NaOH is 21.2g which is needed to be convert in moles first

As no.of moles=mass in gram/molar mass

Molar mass of NaOH is 39.997g/mol

Putting in formula for mole.we get

No of mole = 21.2g/39.997gper mole

= 0.530mole

Now put these values in molarity equation, we get

Molarity =moles of NaOH/ solution in liter

= 0.530/7.92

=0.067M NaOH

How is aluminum an example of extensive
property?
Marrrta [24]

Answer:

If the property depends on the amount of matter present, it is an extensive property. The mass and volume of a substance are examples of extensive properties; for instance, a gallon of milk has a larger mass and volume than a cup of milk.

Different rocks have______ melting points
weeeeeb [17]

Answer:

Different rocks have high, medium, and low melting points.

Explanation:

There is a considerable range of melting temperatures for different compositions of magma. All the silicates are molten at about 1200°C (when a part of rock) and all are solid when cooled to about 600°C. Often the silicates are grouped as high, medium and low-melting point solids.

Which of the following is a correct formula unit of an ionic compound?
goldenfox [79]

Answer : The correct formula unit of an ionic compound is Ca(OH)2

Explanation :

An ionic compound is formed when a metal atom donates one or more electrons to a non metal atom.

During this process, metal gains a positive charge and a nonmetal gets a negative charge.

In an ionic compound, these charges on the ions are balanced so that the overall compound is neutral.

Let us check which of the given compounds have a neutral charge.

1) Al2F3 : Charge on Al is +3 and that on F is -1.

The total charge on 2 Al is 2x3 = +6.

The total charge on 3 F atoms is 3x(-1) = -3

The overall charge on the compound is +6-3 = +3.

That means the given formula unit is not correct.

2) Ca2O : Charge on Ca is +2 and that on O is -2

Total charge on Ca is 2x2 = +4

The overall charge is +4-2 = +2

Therefore the given formula unit is not correct.

3) Ca(OH)2 : The charge on Ca ion is +2 and that on OH is -1.

The total charge on 2 OH ions is 2x(-1) = -2

The overall charge is +2-2 = 0

This gives a neutral compound.

Therefore the given formula unit is correct.

How many atoms are present in 0.035 moles?
RUDIKE [14]

Answer:

2.11x10^{22}atoms

Explanation:

Hello!

In this case, considering the Avogadro's number, which relates the number of particles and one mole, we can infer that 1 mole of any element contains 6.022x10²³ atoms as shown below:

\frac{6.022x10^{23}atoms}{1mol}

Thus, we compute the number of atoms in 0.035 moles as shown below:

atoms=0.035mol*\frac{6.022x10^{23}atoms}{1mol} \\\\atoms=2.11x10^{22}atoms

Best regards!
