An artist sells original hand painted greeting cards. He makes $2.50 profit on a small card and $4.00 profit on a large card. He

generally sells 5 large cards for every 2 small cards. He wants to make a profit of $10000 from large and small cards this year. Find the quantity of each card the artist needs to sell to reach his goal?

Since he sells 5 large cards for every 2 small, we can multiply the number of small cards he needs to sell by 2.5 to find how many large cards he needs to sell.

So let x=the number of small cards sold, and 2.5x=the number of large cards sold

The equation is:Total profit=x+(2.5x)

Since a small card is $2.5, a large card is $4, and the total profit will be $10,000 plug those in to make the equation:

10,000=2.5x+4(2.5x)

We can combine the x's to get 10,000=12.5x and then divide both sides by 12.5 to get x=800.

So he needs to sell 800 small cards.

Multiply that by that 2.5.

And he needs to sell 2000 large cards.

What is the surface area of the following triangular prism?
Allisa [31]
This question was answered but no solution was given.

We already solve for the B or area of the triangular base which was 5.25cm².

There are 2 triangular faces in the prism so 5.25cm² x 2 = 10.50cm²
There are 3 rectangular face in the prism, we need to get the area of each.

area of a rectangle = length x width
rectangle 1: 5 cm x 4 cm = 20 cm²
same dimension with rectangle 2. so, area is 20 cm² also
rectangle 3: 5 cm x 2.8 cm = 14 cm²

let us all add up the area of each surface.
2 triangle = 10.50 cm²
3 rectangles = 20 cm² + 20 cm² + 14 cm² = 54 cm²

10.50 cm² + 54 cm² = 64.50 cm²

Chi chi can hit The golf ball 72 yards. Rory Can hit a golf ball 24 yards. How many times further can Chi chi hit a golf ball th
ivanzaharov [21]

Answer:

Chi chi canhit a golf ball three times further than Rory.

Step-by-step explanation:

To compare the distance between the two golfers, we can set up a ratio:

\frac{Chi chi Distance}{Rory Distance} = \frac{72}{24} =\frac{3}{1}

Since the distance that Chi chi can hit the ball is 3:1 the distance that Rory can hit the ball, than Chi chi can hit the golf ball three times further.  When reducing a ratio or fraction to lowest terms, you need to divide the numerator and the denominator by the same factor.  Since 72 can be evenly divided by 24, we can divide both the numerator and the denominator by 24 to get 3:1.

The sale bin in a clothing store contains an assortment of t-shirts in different sizes. There are 7 small, 8 medium, and 4 large
umka21 [38]

Answer:

P(at least 1 large) = 0.648

P(at least 1 large) = 64.8%

Step-by-step explanation:

We have 7 small shirts, 8 medium shirts and 4 large shirts

Total number of shirts = 7 + 8 + 4 = 19 shirts

The probability that at least one of the first four shirts he checks is a large is given by

P(at least 1 large) = 1 - P(no large)

So first we need to find the probability that the none of the first four shirts he checks are large.

For the first check, there are 15 small and medium shirts and total 19 shirts so,

15/19

For the second check, there are 14 small and medium shirts and total 18 shirts left so,

14/18

For the third check, there are 13 small and medium shirts and total 17 shirts left so,

13/17

For the forth check, there are 12 small and medium shirts and total 16 shirts left so,

12/16

the probability of not finding the large shirt is,

P(no large) = 15/19*14/18*13/17*12/16

P(no large) = 0.352

Therefore, the probability of finding at least one large shirt is,

P(at least 1 large) = 1 - P(no large)

P(at least 1 large) = 1 - 0.352

P(at least 1 large) = 0.648

P(at least 1 large) = 64.8%
