Kinect energy is expressed using the unit
Lorico [155]
Joule
The standard unit for kinetic energy is the joule (J). The joule is the standard unit for energy in general. Other units for energy include the newton-meter (Nm) and the kilogram meter squared over seconds squared (kg m2/s2).

Which word describes the maximum a point moves from its rest position when a wave passes?
Tom [10]

Answer:

Amplitude.

Explanation:

A wave can be defined as a disturbance in a medium that progressively transports energy from a source location to another location without the transportation of matter.

In Science, there are two (2) types of wave and these include;

I. Electromagnetic waves: it doesn't require a medium for its propagation and as such can travel through an empty space or vacuum. An example of an electromagnetic wave is light.

II. Mechanical waves: it requires a medium for its propagation and as such can't travel through an empty space or vacuum. An example of a mechanical wave is sound.

An amplitude can be defined as a waveform that's measured from the center line (its origin or equilibrium position) to the bottom of a trough or top of a crest.

Hence, an amplitude is a word that describes the maximum displacement a point moves from its rest position when a wave passes.

On a graph, the vertical axis (y-axis) is the amplitude of a waveform and this simply means that, it's measured vertically.

Mathematically, the amplitude of a wave is given by the formula;

x = Asin(ωt + ϕ)

Where;

x is displacement of the wave measured in meters.

A is the amplitude.

ω is the angular frequency measured in rad/s.

t is the time period measured in seconds.

ϕ is the phase angle.

liq [111]

Answer:

B) both the amplitude of the motion and the weight of the ball

Explanation:

Time period of a pendulum is given by

T=2\pi \sqrt{\dfrac{L}{g}}

where,

L = Length of pendulum

g = Acceleration due to gravity

The system here is similar to a simple pendulum

It can be seen that the time period depends on L and g.

Amplitude and weight are the factors that do not determine the time period.

Hence, the answer is B) both the amplitude of the motion and the weight of the ball

Calculate the height from which a body is released rest if its velocity just before hitting the ground is 30ms-1
SOVA2 [1]

Answer:

45.9m

Explanation:

Given parameters:

Final velocity  = 30m/s

Initial velocity  = 0m/s

Unknown:

Height of fall  = ?

Solution:

  The motion equation to solve this problem is given below;

            V² = U² + 2gH

            V²  = 0 + (2 x 9.8 x H)

           30²  = 19.6H

              H = \frac{900}{19.6}   = 45.9m
