Answer: 568g/mol

Explanation:

It should be noted that there are 40 atoms of carbon in lycopene.

Since mass of 1 carbon = 12g/mol

Mass of 40 carbon atoms = 40 × 12g/mol = 480g/mol

Let the molar mass of lycopene be represented by x.

Therefore the molar mass of carbon = x × mass percent of carbon in lycopene

x × 84.49% = 480g/mol

x × 0.8449 = 480g/mol

x = 480/0.8449

x = 568g/mol

The molar mass of lycopene is 568g/mol

Why is it commonly believed that carbon dioxide is responsible for global warming? Select 2 options.
monitta

Answer:

Carbon dioxide levels in the Earth's atmosphere have been steadily increasing.

Carbon has a longer average lifetime in the atmosphere.

Explanation:

Today the level of carbon dioxide is higher than at any time in human history. Scientists widely agree that Earth’s average surface temperature has already increased by about 2 F (1 C) since the 1880s, and that human-caused increases in carbon dioxide and other heat-trapping gases are extremely likely to be responsible.

The lifetime in the air of CO2, the most significant man-made greenhouse gas, is probably the most difficult to determine, because there are several processes that remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Between 65% and 80% of CO2 released into the air dissolves into the ocean over a period of 20–200 years.

Oxygen always has an oxidation number of -2 unless it is combined with fluorine or found in the compound peroxide. When in the c
Tpy6a [65]

When oxygen is found is peroxide, it has an oxidation number of -1.

The chemical formula of hydrogen peroxide is H2O2. We know that hydrogen always has +1 oxidation state until it forms metal hydrides. So in H2O2, the oxidation state ofhydrogen is +1.

Now, let oxidation state of oxygen be x. So,

2 * (+1) + 2*x = 0

2 + 2x = 0

2x = -2

x = -2 / 2

x = -1

Hence, the oxidation number of oxygen in peroxides is -1

A chemist determines by measurements that 0.0550 moles of nitrogen gas participate in a chemical reaction. Calculate the mass of
shtirl [24]

The mass of nitrogen gas that participated in the chemical reaction is 1.54g

HOW TO CALCULATE MASS OF AN ELEMENT:

  • Mass of a substance can be calculated by multiplying the number of moles in mol of the substance by its molecular mass in g/mol. That is;

  • mass (M) = molar mass (MM) × number of moles (n)

According to this question, a chemist determines by measurements that 0.0550 moles of nitrogen gas (N2) participate in a chemical reaction.

  • The molecular mass of nitrogen gas (N2) = 14.01(2)

= 28.02g/mol

Hence, the mass of the nitrogen gas that participated in the chemical reaction is calculated as follows:

  • Mass (g) = 0.0550 mol × 28.02 g/mol

  • Mass = 1.5411

Therefore, the mass of nitrogen gas that participated in the chemical reaction is 1.54g

Blank because it wears away certain materials an acid is described as blank
kolbaska11 [484]

Answer:

C; Corrosive

Explanation:

Corrosive is related to the word “Corroded”

Ever heard of when batteries get corroded? That’s when they get old so the acid leaks and damages the actual battery. Same thing. So the answer is C.

I hope this helps! :D

Pls give thx and brainliest if I’m right ;)
