y=-3x+4

x=2y+6

y + 3x =4

-2 + =6

x= 2y +6

y+3.(2y+6)=4

7y = -14

7y=-14

y=-2

y=-2

x=2y+6

x=2(-2)+6=2

solution is {y,x}= {-2,2}

Pleas Help!? I am confused......
IrinaVladis [17]
Notice the x^-2, this is equal to 1/x^2. Then notice the y^0, any value raised to the zero power is equal to 1, ie n^0=1. So your expression is actually just:

8/x^2, the y value has no effect upon the output. They want you to evaluate, which must means calculate, the value when x=2 so:

8/(2^2)

8/4

After paying 8.5% sales tax and leaving a 20% tip, Gwyn paid $57.29. What was the cost of the meal before tax and tip? Round you
olga nikolaevna [1]

Answer:$33.41

Step-by-step explanation:

I converted the percentages to decimals and subtracted them from 1.

(Btw x stands for the cost before tip and tax)

This was the equation I came up with based on what was given to me;

57.29 = (1-0.085)x + (1-0.2)x

57.29=0.915x + 0.8x

57.29=1.715x

Divide both sides by 1.715 and should get 33.40524781

Since we are rounding to the nearest cent, the answer would be $33.41

Like the given triangle is an isosceles triangle, the value of ∠ABC is 72°.

Types of Triangles

There are 3 main classifications for triangles refer to its sides.

 • Equilateral triangle - This triangle presents all sides with the same dimensions and the all angles equal to 60°.
 • Isosceles triangle - This triangle presents two sides with the same dimensions and it has two angles with equal size.
 • Scalene triangle - This triangle presents all sides with different dimensions and it has all angles no equal size.

The figure shows that the given triangle is an isosceles triangle because it has two equal sides (AB=AC). If it is an isosceles triangle, this triangle presents two sides with the same dimensions (AB=AC). and it has two angles with equal size(∠ACB=∠ABC).

Knowing the sum internal angles of triangle is 180°. You can write:

3x+6x+6x=180

15x=180

x=12

Like ∠ABC=6x, then ∠ABC=6*12=72°.
