They are related because waves affect matter. Reflection, refraction, and diffraction. Reflection occurs when wave bounces back from a surface that they cannot pass through. Refraction occurs when waves bend as they enter a new medium at an angle and start traveling at a different speed.

Diesel engines make use of a _______ to add additional combustion chamber heat for cold weather starting.
Andrews [41]
Diesel engines are relatively cheaper than most other commercial engines. Combustion in the engine is started by ignition of high temperatures of the fuel. The best answer is B. glow plug. The glow plug is the device that aids this combustion-ignition process most especially for cold weather. Of course, heat is needed to start up the engine. The glow plug is this heating element as aid in starting up.

3. To calculate the _____ of a moving object, divide the displacement by the time interval in which the displacement occurred.
Alisiya [41]
<h3><u>Answer;</u></h3>

Average velocity

<h3><u>Explanation;</u></h3>
  • <em><u>Average Velocity of a moving body or an object is the ratio of total displacement covered to the time interval during which the displacement occurred.</u></em>
  • That is; Change in displacement divided by time.
  • The formula, therefore will be;

Average velocity = Displacement/ the time interval

  • Instantaneous Velocity on the other hand  is the velocity of an object or a body at some instance.

A right triangle has base b = 100 plusminus 1 ft and adjacent angle theta = 30 degree plusminus 0.5 degree. Calculate the height
aivan3 [116]

Answer:

The height h of this right triangle is 57.74±1.74ft.

Explanation:

Knowing that this is a right triangle, if one of the angles adjacent to the base, θ is 30º, the other angle is 90º. Therefore we can calculate the height h can be calculated with the tangent:

tan(\theta)=\frac{h}{b}\leftrightarrow h=tan(\theta)b=tan(30^\circ)100ft=57.74ft

For the uncertainty we use the  partial derivatives:

\Delta h=|\frac{dh}{db}|\Delta b+ |\frac{dh}{d\theta}|\Delta \theta\\\Delta h=|tan(\theta)|\Delta b+ |\frac{b}{cos^2(\theta)}|\Delta \theta

We have to be careful to use Δθ in radians:

\Delta h=|tan(30^\circ)|1ft+ |\frac{100ft}{cos^2(30^\circ)}|\frac{0.5^\circ2\pi}{360^\circ}=1.74ft
