How to do this? (#21 and #23)
Readme [11.4K]

Answer:

\large\boxed{21.\ g(x)=f(x-2)+1\to g(x)=\log_3(x-2)+1}\\\\\boxed{22.\ g(x)=f(x)-4\to g(x)=3^x-4}\\\\\boxed{23.\ g(x)=-f(x)\to g(x)=-\log_{\frac{1}{2}}x}

Step-by-step explanation:

f(x) + n - shift the grapf n units up

f(x) - n - shift the grapf n units down

f(x + n) - shift the grapf n units to the left

f(x - n) - shift the grapf n units to the right

-f(x) - reflection about the x-axis

f(-x) - reflection about the y-axis

============================================

Look at the picture.

21.\\f(x)=\log_3x\\\\g(x)=\log_3(x-2)+1

move the graph 2 units to the right and 1 unit up

22.\\f(x)=3^x\\\\g(x)=3^x-4

move the graph 4 units down

23.\\f(x)=\log_{\frac{1}{2}}x\\\\g(x)=-\log_{\frac{1}{2}}x

reflection the graph about the X axis.

A school group has $140 to spend. Write and solve an inequality that represents the cost to rent the main hall, where h represen
lisov135 [29]

Answer:

a. 15h + 40 ≤ 140

b. h ≤ 6.6

<em>Note: The question is missing a table. The table is shown in the attachment below.</em>

Step-by-step explanation:

a. The school group has $140 to spend, and so can only spend an amount less than or equal to $140 when renting the main hall.

The cost of renting the main includes an hourly rate of $15 and a set-up fee of $40.

Let  h represent the number of hours the group can rent the hall.

Cost of renting the main hall, C is given by:

15h + 40 ≤ 140

b. Solution of the inequality:

15h + 40 ≤ 140

15h ≤ 140 - 40

15h ≤ 100

h ≤ 100/15

h ≤ 6.6

Therefore, the main hall can only be rented for a maximum of 6.6 hours or less

Describe how the Pythagorean Theorem can be used to find a missing side length in a right triangle.
svetoff [14.1K]

You use the equation a²+b²=c²

c = the hypotenuse

a and b represents the legs

Here are two examples

Example 1

Side a = 6

Side b = 8

6²+8²=c²

Square the legs

36+64=x²

Sdd

100= x²

Now we use the square root to find x

√100=√x

Solve the square root

10 = x

Example 2

side a = 3

hypotenuse = 7

3²+x²=7²

Square the known numbers

9+x²=49

Subtract 9 from 49

x²=40

Find the square root

√x=√40

x= 6.32 or 2√10

Hope this helps :)
