A skateboarder has an acceleration of −1.9 m/s2. If her initial speed is 6 m/s, how long does it take her to stop?
SSSSS [86.1K]
You said that she's losing 1.9 m/s of her speed every second.

So it'll take

             (6 m/s) / (1.9 m/s²)  =  3.158 seconds  (rounded)

to lose all of her initial speed, and stop.

If the net external force acting on a system is zero , then the total momentum of the system is zero
Neporo4naja [7]
If net external force acting on the system is zero, momentum is conserved. That means, initial and final momentum are same → total momentum of the system is zero.

How does energy move through the atmosphere hydrosphere and biosphere
Anna11 [10]
When the Sun’s energy moves through space, it reaches Earth’s atmosphere and finally the surface. This radiant solar energy warms the atmosphere and becomes heat energy. This heat energy is transferred throughout the planet’s systems in three ways: by radiation, conduction, and convection

There is a circuit with 2 resistors in series and a cell of 3.0v.what is the resistance across the first resistor if the current
Marysya12 [62]

Answer:

The resistance of the first resistor is, R₁ = 10 Ω

Explanation:

Given data,

The potential of the cell v = 3 V

The current through the first resistor, I = 0.2 A

The P.D across the first resistor, v₁ = 2.0 V

Let R₁, and R₂ be the resistance of the resistors,

Since the voltage across the series connection is,

                                   v = v₁ + v₂

Substituting the values

                                    3 V = 2 V + v₂

∴                                       v₂ = 1 V

Hence, the P.D across the second resistor is, v₂ = 1 V

The resistance of the first resistor is,

                                   R₁ = v₁ / I

                                        = 2 V / 0.2 A

                                         = 10 Ω

Hence, the resistance of the first resistor is, R₁ = 10 Ω
