In the absence of air resistance ...

-- The ball has no horizontal acceleration at any point in its flight.

-- The ball's vertical acceleration is 9.8 meters per second-squared downward
at every point its flight, from the moment it leaves the toe of the kicker until it hits
the ground.

n electromagnetic wave in vacuum has an electric field amplitude of 611 V/m. Calculate the amplitude of the corresponding magnet
enot [183]

Answer:

The  corresponding  magnetic field is

Explanation:

From the question we are told that

    The electric field amplitude is  E_o   =  611\  V/m

Generally the  magnetic  field amplitude is  mathematically represented as

              B_o  =  \frac{E_o }{c }

Where c is the speed of light with a constant value

         c = 3.0 *0^{8} \ m/s

So

        B_o   =  \frac{611 }{3.0*10^{8}}

         B_o   =  2.0 4 *10^{-6} \  Vm^{-2} s

Since 1  T  is  equivalent to  V  m^{-2} \cdot  s

         B_o  =  2.0 4 *10^{-6} \ T

A scientist is testing the seismometer in his lab and has created an apparatus that mimics the motion of the earthquake felt in
otez555 [7]

Complete Question

The complete question is shown on the first uploaded image

Answer:

a

 a_{max} = 0.00246 \  m/s^2

b

   k  =722.2 \ N/m

Explanation:

From the question we are told that

     The  amplitude is A  = 1.8 \ cm  =  0.018 \ m

     The period is T  = 17 \ s

    The test weight is  W =  13 \ N

Generally the radial acceleration is mathematically represented as

        a =  w^2 r

at maximum angular acceleration

       r =  A

So

       a_{max} =  w^2 A

Now w is the angular velocity which is mathematically represented as

      w =  \frac{2 * \pi }{T}

Therefore

       a_{max} =  [\frac{2 *  \pi}{T} ]^2 * A

substituting values

       a_{max} =  [\frac{2 *  3.142}{17} ]^2 * 0.018

       a_{max} = 0.00246 \  m/s^2

Generally this test weight is mathematically represented as

     W =  k *  A

Where k is the spring constant

Therefore

        k  = \frac{W}{A}

substituting values

      k  = \frac{13}{0.018}

     k  =722.2 \ N/m

These diagrams represent two types of tectonic plate boundaries
trapecia [35]

Convergent boundaries are caused by the collision of two plates and can originate volcanoes. Transforming boundaries produce fractures by displacement. <em>The correct option is D. Type A boundaries have fewer volcanoes. </em>

----------------------------------------

The crust -the outermost layer of the earth- is divided into many plates that move over the mantle.

These plates are limited by three types of ridges or borders that differ in the movement they produce.

Boundaries types:

I. Divergent:

  • This boundary occurs when two plates separate and molten material rises from the mantle creating a new crust.

  • The hot material creates a new seabed between the separating plates, expanding the sea bottom.

II. Convergent.

  • Collision area between two plates.

  • Two oceanic plates might collide, or one oceanic plate with a continental one.

  • In this last case, the oceanic crust sinks under the continental plate, and magma rises to the surface by crevices.

  • The thicker and older plate subduces under the other plate.

  • Collisions create volcanic arches and continental arches.

III. Transforming.

  • The plates slide laterally with each other, and they are usually called faults.

  • It is associated, in general, with the oceanic ridge, although it might also occur in the continental plate.

  • No rocky material is either destroyed or formed.

  • When the plates move and produce a displacement of one transforming limits from side to side, earthquakes occur.

  • The movement breaks the crust and originates pronounced fractures.

In the attached images, we can see

  • image A representing transforming boundaries,
  • image B representing Convergent boundaries.

Image B is the one that can originate volcanoes because transforming boundaries only produce fractures.

So the correct option would be D.
