Answer: Cuando esto ocurre, la molécula se considera polar. Puedes determinar la polaridad de una molécula analizando sus enlaces, probando la forma en la que interactúa con otras sustancias polares u observando su reacción a un campo electromagnético. Why the is ratio of magnesium ions to chloride ions in MgCl2 is 1:2?
Monica [59]
You should read up on Proust's law, better known as the Law of Definite Proportions. This is a chemical law that defines your question more generally, on why the ratio of elements and ions are always fixed.

Basically, this compound Magnesium(II) Chloride is MgCl2 because it has the same number of protons, neutrons, and electrons all the way. This defines the properties of the compound or atom.

You have 8 moles of a gas at 250 K in a 6 L container. What is the pressure of the gas? Show your work
Bogdan [553]

Hello:

In this case, we will use the Clapeyron equation:

P = ?

n = 8 moles

T = 250 K

R = 0.082 atm.L/mol.K

V = 6 L

Therefore:

P * V = n *  R * T

P * 6 = 8 * 0.082* 250

P* 6 = 164

P = 164 / 6

P = 27.33 atm

Hope that helps!

Briefly explain formality in solution.
Zielflug [23.3K]

Answer:

Both molarity and formality express concentration as moles of solute per liter of solution. Formality is a substance's total concentration in solution without regard to its specific chemical form. ... The formality of a solution is defined as the number of formula mass of any solute dissolved in 1 litre of solution.

The mechanisms of most common reactions consist of two or more elementary steps, each of which describes a single molecular even
olga2289 [7]

Answer:

The correct answer is "True".

Explanation:

A reaction mechanism is a theoretical postulate that tries to explain in a logical way which are the elemental and intermediary reactions that happen in a chemical reaction and that allow to explain the qualitative and quantitative characteristics observed in its development, in which a unique molecular event is described in each elemental step.
