Suppose that two objects attract each other with a gravitational force of 16 units. If the mass of both objects was tripled, and

if the distance between the objects was doubled, then what would be the new force of attraction between the two objects?

Answer:

<em>The new force of attraction would be 36 units</em>

Explanation:

<u>Law of Universal Gravitation </u>

Objects attract each other with a force that is proportional to their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance.

This statement can be expressed with the formula:

\displaystyle F=G{\frac {m_{1}m_{2}}{r^{2}}}

Where:

m1 = mass of object 1

m2 = mass of object 2

r     = distance between the objects' center of masses

G   = gravitational constant: 6.67\cdot 10^{-11}~Nw*m^2/Kg^2

Now suppose two given objects attract with a force of F=16 units, thus:

\displaystyle G{\frac {m_{1}m_{2}}{r^{2}}}=16

And now the masses of both objects is tripled, i.e., m1'=3m1, m2'=3m2, and the distance between them is doubled, r'=2r. The new force is:

\displaystyle F'=G{\frac {3m_{1}3m_{2}}{(2r)^{2}}}

Operating:

\displaystyle F'=G{\frac {9m_{1}m_{2}}{4r^{2}}}

\displaystyle F'=\frac{9}{4}G{\frac {m_{1}m_{2}}{r^{2}}}

Substituting the value of the initial force:

\displaystyle F'=\frac{9}{4}\cdot 16

F'=36\ units

The new force of attraction would be 36 units

A piece of wire is bent to form a circle with radius r. It has a steady current I flowing through it in a counterclockwise direc
dedylja [7]

Answer:

B=μ₀I/2r

Explanation:

Produced magnetic field due to an existing electric field through a coil or conductor can be explained by Biot-Savart Law. Formula for this law is:

dB=(μ₀I/4π.r²)dL

Here,

r=Radius of the loop

I and r are constants with respect to length L.

To convert linear displacement L into angular displacement Ф:

dL=r.dФ

So,

dB=(μ₀I/4π.r²)r.dФ

dB=(μ₀I/4π.r)dФ

Integrating both sides over the circle i.e. from 0 radians to 2π radians  (360⁰), while the integration will apply only on dФ as all others are constants.

B=(μ₀I/4πr)(2π-0)

<u>B=(μ₀I/2r)</u>

How does velocity differ from speed? What changes in motion can result in a change in velocity?
olga55 [171]
-Velocity is the speed of any moving object in a given direction, whilst Speed is the rate of an object's ability to move.
-Velocity can change if the direction or time is changed, the basic equation of velocity is: v = d/t
v - velocity
d - distance
t - time
If one of these factors change, it affects the other.

Hope this answers the question!

. You are sitting on a beach watching the waves roll in. In 12 seconds, 6 waves roll by. What is the period of the waves (7)? Wh
Andrew [12]

Answer:

Explanation:

6 waves in 12 seconds

The period of a wave is defined as the time taken by the wave to complete one oscillations.

Here, 6 waves are completed in 12 seconds

So, one wave is completed in 2 seconds

So, the period of the wave is 2 second.

frequency is defined as the number of waves completed in one second. It is the reciprocal of period of the wave.

frequency = 1 / 2 = 0.5 Hertz

Let the wavelength is λ.

f = 660  kHz = 660000 Hz

the relation for the wave speed and the wavelength and the frequency is given by

v = f λ

where v is the speed of wave = 3 x 10^8 m/s

So, 3 x 10^8 = 660000 x λ

λ = 454.55 m
