A generator uses a coil that has 270 turns and a 0.48-T magnetic field. The frequency of this generator is 60.0 Hz, and its emf

has an rms value of 120 V. Assuming that each turn of the coil is a square (an approximation), determine the length of the wire from which the coil is made.

Answer:

The total length of wire is 0.24 m.

Explanation:

Number of turns, N = 270

magnetic field, B = 0.48 T

frequency, f = 60 Hz

rms value of emf = 120 V

maximum value of emf, Vo = 1.414 x 120 = 169.68 V

let the area of square is A and the side is L.

The maximum emf is given by

Vo = N B A w

169.68 = 270 x 0.48 x A x 2 x 3.14 x 60

A = 3.5 x 10^-3 m^2

So,

L = 0.0589 m

Total length of wire, P = 4 L = 4 x 0.0589 = 0.24 m

The ______ creates currents in the atmosphere and the hydrosphere.
padilas [110]
B. The solar energy is responsible for the currents being made in the atmosphese and the hydrosphere. It creates a convection current in the planet that maintains the flow of the air and the water in it. That's why you experience changes in temperature on the air during daytime and night, as well as varying currents on the seaside depending on the time of the day/night.

When a star collapses to form a black hole, its mass _____.
romanna [79]
When a star collapses to form a black hole, its mass increases, that is letter C. One example of this is the Big Bang Theory.

It is by no doubt that our universe had had its own starting point but how it really started became a debate for the scientists over the past centuries. From theories such as Ekpyrotic theory, White Holes, Matrix theory, and Quantum theory, the Big Bang theory is the theory mostly accepted by scientists. According to the theory, the universe started as a singularity, that is, from a black hole under extreme gravitational pressure and expanded (instead of exploded) and cooled. Its cooling, according to the theory, is still happening now as of the moment.

Does a rolling ball on a level floor have PE or KE? Explain.
ANEK [815]
Kinetic energy since if its rolling is already using the stored potential energy that it had before it was given an amount of energy to release it for a given time

The magnetic dipole moment of Earth is 8.00 ✕ 1022 J/T. Assume that this is produced by charges flowing in Earth's molten outer
KonstantinChe [14]

To solve the problem it is necessary to use the concepts and expressions related to the magnetic dipole moment.

It is usually defined by,

\mu = IA

Where,

\mu = Magnetic Dipole Moment

I = Current

A = Area

In this way re-arrange for the current and replacing,

I = \frac{\mu}{A}

I = \frac{8*10^{22}}{\pi R^2}

I = \frac{8*10^{22}}{\pi * (3350*10^3)^2}

I = 7.1285*10^9A

Therefore the current is 7.1285*10^9 Amperes

Question 5 of 10
jonny [76]

Answer:

A. The particle model, because only high-energy frequencies of light can remove electrons .

Explanation:

Each photon of blue light has higher energy than each photon of red light has . So when each photon strikes each electron , it gets ejected . But the photon of red light has not sufficient energy to eject electron . Once the photon of red light strikes the electron , the energy is wasted off . Energy of photon can not be accumulated . Thus photon behaves like particle .
