An affect of eating disorders is bad relationships with family and friends. In addition to missing out on events and outings to avoid eating, the illness can make you irritable and cause one to lash out on those they care about. Also if the disorder comes to light family and friends may feel offended that the victim never told them, further damaging relationships.
