A 4.700 L sample of gas is cooled from 71.0 °C to a temperature at which its volume is 3.300 L. What is this new temperature? As
Dafna11 [192]

initial condition : Vi = 4.700 L , Ti = 71.0ºC +273 => 344 K

final condition : Vf = 3.300 L , Tf = ?

Pressure is constant:

According to charle's law , volume is directly proportional to temperature at constant pressure !

Hence  Vi / Ti  = Vf / Tf

4.700 L / 344 K = 3.300 L / Tf

Tf =  3.300 L * 344 K / 4.700 L

Tf = 1135200 / 4.700

Tf = 241.53 K

Tf = 241.53 - 273

Tf = -31.47ºC

A neutralization reaction between an acid and sodium hydroxide formed water and the salt named sodium sulfate. What was the form
myrzilka [38]

Answer: The formula of the acid that was neutralized is H_2SO_4

Explanation:

Neutralization is a chemical reaction in which acid and base combine to form salt and water. Acids donate H^+ and bases donate OH^- in water which combine to form water molecules.

As the salt formed is Na_2SO_4 , the acid must contain SO_4 and thus the acid is H_2SO_4

The balanced chemical reaction is ;

H_2SO_4+2NaOH\rightarrow Na_2SO_4+2H_2O

The formula of the acid that was neutralized is H_2SO_4

What is a molecular orbital? Question 3 options: Another method of describing the orbitals of individual atoms A mixing of the a
tensa zangetsu [6.8K]

Answer:

An area around a molecule that describes a region of space where the electrons that are shared between bonded atoms can reside

Explanation:

A molecular orbital is an area around a molecule that describes a region of space where the electrons that are shared between bonded atoms can reside.

Molecular orbitals are formed by linear combination of atomic orbitals of about the same energy. The number of atomic orbitals that are combined to give molecular orbitals is the same as the number of molecular orbitals formed. The build up of electrons in molecular orbitals also follow the Aufbau principle, Hund's rule and Pauli exclusion principle.
