the printed matter on a 14 by 18 centimeter page of a book must covor 140 square centimeters. if all margins are to be the same
luda_lava [24]
Let
x----------------> width of the margin
we know that

[Area printed matter]=140
[Area printed matter]=[(14-2x)*(18-2x)]
then
[(14-2x)*(18-2x)]=140--------> (252-28x-36x+4x²)=140
(252-64x+4x²)=140----------> 4x²-64x+112=0

using a graph tool---------> I solve the quadratic equation
see the attached figure
x1=2
x2=14----------> is not solution

the answer is
the margin should be 2 cm

Rounding decimalsrounding decimals
VashaNatasha [74]
If your asking what is it its
When rounding to a place to the right of the decimal point, drop all the numerals to the right of the rounding place instead of changing them to zeros. Thus, 567.235 rounded to the nearest ten is 570, and 567.235 rounded to the nearest tenth is 567.2

How to write a square root in word
Cerrena [4.2K]

Do you mean in the format Word? or Just word?

If you mean the format this is how I think you do it.

Type \sqrt and I think it should turn it into the square root symbol. If not you can just look up "square root symbol" on google and copy and paste it onto the document.

What’s the answer to this ?
DerKrebs [107]

Answer:

109

Step-by-step explanation:

A witch is 15 + 15 + 15 = 45

A wand is 7 + 7 + 7 = 21

A broom is 4 + 4 + 4 = 12

First you do one witch which is 15, times one wand which is 7

So, 15 x 7 = 105

Then 105 + one broom which is 4 equals 109
