Answer:

solid cylinder

Explanation:

the object that arrives first is the object that has more speed, let's use the concepts of energy

starting point. Highest point

         Em₀ = U = m g h

final point. Lowest point

         Em_f = K = ½ mv² + ½ I w²

since the body has rotational and translational movement

how energy is conserved

         m g h = ½ mv² + ½ I w²

linear and angular velocity are related

          v = w r

          w = v / r

we substitute

          m g h = ½ mv² + ½ I (v/r) ²

          mg h = ½ v² (m + I /r²)

          v = \sqrt{2gh \ \frac{m}{m + \frac{I}{r^2} } }

the tabulated moments of inertia for the bodies are

solid cylinder     I = ½ m r²

hollow cylinder  I = m r²

we look for the speed for each body

solid cylinder

          v₁ = \sqrt {2gh} \ \sqrt{\frac{m}{m + m/2} }

          v₁ = \sqrt{2gh} \  \sqrt{2/3}

let's call    v₀ = \sqrt{2gh}

         v₁ = 0.816 v₀

hollow cylinder

          v₂ = \sqrt{2gh } \ \sqrt{\frac{m}{m+ m} }

          v₂ = v₀ √½

          v₂ = 0.707 v₀

Therefore, the body that has the highest speed is the solid cylinder and since time is the inverse of speed, this is the body that spends less time to reach the bottom, that is, it is the first to arrive

Prove law of conservation of energy for a stone moving vertically down ( explain energy at B & C )
STALIN [3.7K]

As per given condition of point B we can see that height at point B is "h/2" from the ground

So we know that potential energy is given as

U = mgh

so here we have to put height h = h/2

so potential energy is U = mgh/2

now for kinetic energy we need to find the speed of it after falling the distance h/2

now by kinematics we will have

v_f^2 - 0^2 = 2(g)(h/2)

now for kinetic energy

KE = \frac{1}{2}mv^2 = \frac{1}{2}m(gh)

KE = 1/2mgh

now total energy will be given as

E = mgh/2 + mgh/2 = mgh

now for point C we can say that it is the point near to ground

So here height is ZERO

now potential energy will also be zero

U = 0

now for kinetic energy we need to find speed

v^2 - 0^2 = 2(g)(h)

now kinetic energy

KE = \frac{1}{2}mv^2 = \frac{1}{2}m(2gh)

KE = mgh

now again we have total energy

E = 0 + mgh = mgh

Explain: Is it possible to convert milliliters to liters? How about milliliters to grams?
Advocard [28]

Answer:

yes, it is possible

Explanation:

To convert milliliters to liters, we divide by 1000.

To convert milliliters to grams, we multiply the volume (in ml) by the density (in g).

The formula used in calculations relating to transformers is:

<span>Secondary voltage (Vs)/ Primary voItage (VP) = Secondary turns (nS)/ Primary turns (nP)</span>

Substituting the given values to find for Vs,

Vs / 120 V = 400 turns / 100 turns

<span>Vs = 480 V</span>
