The arrangement helps in easy memorizing of the elements in periodic table with the easy knowledge of oxidation state and properties of group of elements.

Explanation:

The groups consists of elements having same valence state and similar properties while the elements in periods are arranged in increasing atomic number.

So the period helps in remembering the atomic number and mass number of every element from their period number.

While the group number helps in finding the oxidation state, valence electrons and chemical properties of the elements present in that group.

Also it is easier to classify metals and non-metals and also semi-metals with the grouping of their group numbers.

Groups probably come in most handy when predicting the properties of an element. Just like people in a family all me share similar traits, elements in the same group on the periodic table also will have similar properties. Going across a period, each element has one more protein and less metallic then it’s predecessor.

12,3,14,10,13,8 step 3 of 3 : determine if the data set is unimodal, bimodal, multimodal, or has no mode. identify the mode(s),
strojnjashka [21]

The data set has no mode

What is a mode?

This is the term used to describe a number in a given data that has the highest frequency.

If a pericular number have more than one frequency in a given data, the number is called the mode. Hence it is describe as unimodal.

If two different number have the same frequency that is more than one, it called bimodal.

If three or more different number have the same frequency that is more than one, it called multimodal

With the above information, we can determine whether or not the data has mode and the kind of mode. Details below

How to determine the mode

 • Data in increasing order: 3, 8, 10, 12, 13, 14
 • Mode =?

From the data given, we can see that no number has more than one frequency.

Thus, the data has no mode

What happens to P waves and S waves at a depth of 2.500 km?
LenKa [72]

P-waves pass through both mantle and core, but are slowed and refracted at the mantle / core boundary at a depth of 2900 km. S-waves passing from the mantle to the core are absorbed because shear waves cannot be transmitted through liquids. ... The core has a radius of 3470 km.

You observe a hockey puck of mass 0.12 kg, traveling across the ice at speed 18.3 m/sec. The interaction of the puck and the ice
Galina-37 [17]

The stopping distance is 143.1 m

Explanation:

First of all, we have to find the acceleration of the hockey puck. This can be done by using Newton's second law of motion:

\sum F =ma

where

\sum F = F_f = -0.14 N is the net force acting on the puck (the force of friction, negative because it acts in a direction opposite to the direction of motion)

m = 0.12 kg is the mass of the puck

a is the acceleration

Solving for a,

a=\frac{\sum F}{m}=\frac{-0.14}{0.12}=-1.17 m/s^2

The motion of the puck is a uniformly accelerated motion, therefore we can use the following suvat equation:

v^2-u^2=2as

where:

v = 0 is the final velocity (the puck comes to a stop)

u = 18.3 m/s is the initial velocity

a=-1.17 m/s^2 is the acceleration

s is the stopping distance

And solving for s, we find

s=\frac{v^2-u^2}{2a}=\frac{0-(18.3)^2}{2(-1.17)}=143.1 m

Where does the atmosphere of the Earth end? (i.e. Where is the top of the Earth's atmosphere?) Where does the atmosphere of the
galben [10]

Answer:

b. There is no definite top to the atmosphere. The pressure and density gradually get smaller as the altitude gets larger.

Explanation:

There is no specific top of the atmosphere. It varies from place to place. But generally it is considered to be 480 kilometers thick. But majority of its thickness is limited to 16 km only above earth surface. The pressure and density gradually get smaller as the altitude gets larger. The air pressure at sea level is 14.7 pounds per square inch and it decreases to 10 pounds per square inch at a height of 3 kilometers. From the above discussion we say that option B is correct
