The cheese having a higher thermal conductivity conducts heat better so it can deliver the heat to your mouth more quickly while the pizza crust transmits heat more slowly. So, even if they were the same temperature, the cheese would more likely give your tongue/mouth a severe burn.

Gases have low densities. Density is the mass of an object divided by its volume. Mass of gases are quite small. Since the mass is related to mass of the particles itself. However the volume is great since the gases are far apart due to how weak the forces of attraction are ( gases take the shape of the container which means they take up a good bit of space which means greater volume). A small mass divided by a large volume gives a small value (small density).
