<span>Answer: So at joints C and D do I let there be a Cx, Cy and Dx, Dy respectively or do I just keep it as Fwd and Fwc? Either way I can't seem to solve it. â‘Fx=0=WD-4293cos19.74 ÎŁFy=0=Fwc Sin19.74 - 1450 Fwc= 4203 lb WD = 4041 lb Then at joint C â‘Fx=0=CDsin30 - CAsin30 - 4041 â‘Fy=0=1450-CDcos30-CAcos30 CD = 4878 CA = -3204 Incorrect. How do I find displacement
almond37 [142]
The displacement is just the distance between the starting point and the
ending point, and you don't care about the route taken or the actual distance
covered along the way.

This can bite you sometimes.  For example, some day you'll be given the
diameter of a circle, and you'll be asked for the displacement of an ant that
walks around the circle 17 times and finally stops at the same place it
started from.  You might go to work calculating the circumference of the
circle and multiplying it by 17.  But if you think about it first, you realize that
if the ant ends up at the place he started from, then his displacement is zero.

With light microscopy, if the objective lens (lens closest to the specimen) magnifies 40-fold, and the eyepiece lens magnifies 1
Fed [463]

The final magnification will be 400-fold or 400 times the original size of the object.

For magnifying smaller objects, a compound microscope is used.

A compound microscope consists of an objective and an eyepiece, whose diagram is shown in the adjoining image.

The lens  near  the object is called an objective and the other one is the eyepiece.

Let the magnification of the objective be m1

Let the magnification of the eyepiece be m2

The final magnification by the microscope, M, will be

M = m1 x m2

Putting the values in the above equation

M = 40 x 10

M= 400

Thus, the final magnification will be 400-fold or 400 times the original size of the object.
