Answer:

Abstract

A methodology for designing mechanical non-uniform motion generators is presented. The basic requirements for four-bar and six-bar linkages are established and it is shown how the performance can be evaluated by harmonic analysis applied to the output angular velocity function. A means of creating and searching a library of mechanisms based on normalized output functions is presented. B-spline curves are used as a means of defining a desired performance and it is shown how minimum acceleration can be achieved with continuity in the derivatives. Finally, a means of increasing the quality of motion transmission in the selected mechanisms is given. The techniques are used to synthesize a six-bar linkage.

If the gravitational field strength at the top of Mount Everest is 9.772 N/kg, approximately how tall (in feet) is
Delicious77 [7]

Answer:

The height of the Everest mountain is, x = 8514.087 m

Explanation:

Given data,

The gravitational field strength at the top of mount Everest, gₓ = 9.772 m/s²

The formula for gravitational field strength is,

                                gₓ = GM/(R+x)²

Where, x is the height from the surface of the Earth

Therefore,

                                (R+x)² = GM/gₓ

                                     x = √(GM/gₓ) - R

Substituting the values,

                       x = √(6.67408 x 10⁻¹¹ X  5.972 x 10²⁴ / 9.772) - 6.378 x 10⁶

                       x =  8514.087 m

Therefore, the height of the Everest mountain is, x = 8514.087 m

Roseanne and Jackie were asked to design and create a paper airplane that would stay in the air for as long as possible. They be
jekas [21]

Answer:

the planes times in the air

Explanation:

When a paper airplane is thown the path it takes is not the same every time. So, measuring the distance between the points where the airplane took off and the point where is landed would not show the time the plane was in the air.

The weight also does not determine the time the plane was in the air.

So, the planes air time recorded with the stopwatch gives the time the plane was in the air and will indicate the best plane.

You jump off a truck and accelerate toward the surface of the Earth. Does the Earth accelerate toward you?
Triss [41]

When we jump from the truck and accelerate towards the earth surface, the earth also accelerates towards us but it's acceleration is very negligible.

To find the answer, we need to know about the acceleration of earth due to the gravitational attraction.

What's the gravitational force between the earth and a person?

  • Gravitational attraction force is GMm/r² between the earth and a person.
  • M= mass of the earth

m= mass of the person

r= separation between them.

What's the acceleration of the earth towards the person when he jumps from a truck?

  • According to Newton's second law, Force = M×acceleration
  • Acceleration= Force / M
  • Here, Force = GMm/r²,

so acceleration of earth= Gm/r²

  • As this acceleration is very small, so we can't notice it.

Thus, we can conclude that the earth also accelerates towards us.
