Answer:

when the earth quakes...

Explanation:

or An earthquake is caused by a sudden slip on a fault,  When the stress on the edge overcomes the friction, there is an earthquake that releases energy in waves that travel through the earth's crust and cause the shaking that we feel.

A solid conducting sphere has net positive charge and radiusR = 0.600 m . At a point 1.20 m from the center of the sphere, the e
gayaneshka [121]

Answer:

  V_inside = 36 V

Explanation:

<u>Given  </u>

We are given a sphere with a positive charge q with radius R = 0.400 m Also, the potential due to this charge at distance r = 1.20 m is V = 24.0 V.

<u>Required</u>

We are asked to calculate the potential at the centre of the sphere

<u>Solution</u>

The potential energy due to the sphere is given by equation

V = (1/4*π*∈o) × (q/r)                                          (1)

Where r is the distance where the potential is measured, it may be inside the sphere or outside the sphere. As shown by equation (1) the potential inversely proportional to the distance V

V ∝ 1/r

The potential at the centre of the sphere depends on the radius R where the potential is the same for the entire sphere. As the charge q is the same and the term (1/4*π*∈o) is constant we could express a relation between the states , e inside the sphere and outside the sphere as next

V_1/V_2=r_2/r_1

V_inside/V_outside = r/R

V_inside = (r/R)*V_outside                               (2)

Now we can plug our values for r, R and V_outside into equation (2) to get  V_inside

V_inside = (1.2 m )/(0.600)*18

               = 36 V

  V_inside = 36 V

A car moving at some speed hits the brakes and skids to a stop after 13 m on a level road. If the coefficient of friction for th
vesna_86 [32]

Answer:

12.974 m/s

Explanation:

t = Time taken

u = Initial velocity

v = Final velocity

s = Displacement

g = Acceleration due to gravity = 9.81 m/s²

\mu = Coefficient of friction =0.66

a = Acceleration = \mu g

v^2-u^2=2as\\\Rightarrow -u^2=2\mu gs-v^2\\\Rightarrow u=\sqrt{v^2-2\mu gs}\\\Rightarrow u=\sqrt{0^2-2\times -(9.81\times 0.66)\times 13}\\\Rightarrow u=12.974\ m/s

Car's original speed before braking was 12.974 m/s

Devise an exponential decay function that fits the given data, then answer the accompanying questions. Be sure to identify the
7nadin3 [17]

Answer:

22145.27733 ft

124984.76055 ft

Explanation:

The equation of pressure is

P=P_0e^{-kh}

where,

P_0 =Atmospheric pressure = 800 mbar

k = Constant

h = Altitude = 35000 ft

P=\dfrac{1}{3}P_0

\dfrac{1}{3}P_0=P_0e^{-k35000}\\\Rightarrow \dfrac{1}{3}=e^{-k35000}\\\Rightarrow 3=e^{k35000}\\\Rightarrow ln3=k35000\\\Rightarrow k=\dfrac{ln3}{35000}\\\Rightarrow k=3.13\times 10^{-5}

Now

P=\dfrac{1}{2}P_0

ln2=kh\\\Rightarrow h=\dfrac{ln2}{k}\\\Rightarrow h=\dfrac{ln2}{3.13\times 10^{-5}}\\\Rightarrow h=22145.27733\ ft

The altitude will be 22145.27733 ft

P=0.02P_0

0.02P_0=P_0e^{-kh}\\\Rightarrow 0.02=e^{-3.13\times 10^{-5}h}\\\Rightarrow ln0.02=-3.13\times 10^{-5}h\\\Rightarrow h=\dfrac{ln0.02}{-3.13\times 10^{-5}}\\\Rightarrow h=124984.76055\ ft

The elevation is 124984.76055 ft
