  • When the crust adjusts itself lot of energy is released, being in the form of strong vibrations, which can cause enormous damage.
  • The place deep into the crust where the earthquakes forms is called hypocenter, also referred to as focus.
  • The place on the surface of Earth, vertically above the hypocenter/focus is called epicenter, from which the vibrations spread out as concentric circles.
