Answer:A) Current = 1.739A, B)current density, J = 2.147x10^6 A/m2

magnitude of electric field , E =  0.036 N/C

)rate of thermal energy, P  =2.086W

Explanation:

Resistance  = R =   ρL/A

But the cross-section area of the wire. is given as

Diameter / 2 = 0.04/2 =0.02in to m = 0.02 / 39.37= 0.000508

A = πr^2 = π x  0.000508^2 = 8.10 x 10^-7

since resistivity of copper,ρ= 17x10-9 ohm.m

so resistance is   R =   ρL/A

17x10-9  x 33 / 8.1x10-7

= 0.69 ohm.

A) Current =    I = Voltage /Resistance =1.20/0.69 =1.739A

B)current density, J = Current /Area

= 1.739/8.1x10-7

= 2.147x10^6 A/m2

c)magnitude of electric field , E =  Current density x resistivity =J ρ

E = 2.147 x 10^6  x 17  x 10^-9

E = 0.036 N/C

D)rate of thermal energy, P  = I² R =1.739² X 0.69

=2.086W

A water skier lets go of the tow rope upon leaving the end ofa
ANTONII [103]

Answer:

1.35m

Explanation:

At the highest point of the jump, the vertical speed of the skier should be 0. So the 13m/s speed is horizontal, this speed stays the same from the jumping point to the highest point. The 14m/s speed at jumping point is the combination of both vertical and horizontal speeds.

The vertical speed at the jumping point can be computed:

v_v^2 + v_h^2 = v^2

v_v^2 + 13^2 = 14^2

v_v^2 = 196 - 169 = 27

v_v = \sqrt{27} = 5.2 m/s

When the skier jumps to the its potential energy is converted to kinetic energy:

E_p = E_k

mgh = mv_v^2/2

where m is the skier mass and h is the vertical distance traveled, v_v is the vertical velocity at jumping point, and h is the highest point.

Let g = 10m/s2

We can divide both sides of the equation by m:

gh = v_v^2/2

h = \frac{v_v^2}{2g} = \frac{27}{2*10} = 1.35 m

At what speed does a falling hailstone travel? Does the speed depend on the distance that the hailstone falls?
Anton [14]

Answer:The speed if hailstone dependly largely on its size. A hailstone with a diameter of 0.39 inches,falls wit a speed of 20mph while a hailstone with 3.1 inches in diameter falls at a speed of 110mph.

No speed does not depend on the distance that the hailstone falls.

Explanation: There are other factors that affect the speed of the falling hailstone apart from its size.They are:

1. Friction between the air and the hailstone

2. Wind condition( windy or moist air)

3. The rate at which it melts falling.
