A spaceship captain lands on an unknown planet. Before venturing forth, he needs to find out the acceleration due to gravity on

that planet. All he has available to him is some thin light string, a stopwatch, and a small 2.75-kg metal ball (it was a rough landing). So he lets the ball swing from a 1.5-m length of the string, starting at rest, and measures that it takes 1.9 s for it to swing from the place where he released it to the place where it first stops as it reverses direction. What is the acceleration due to gravity on this planet

Answer:

g = 4,10 m/s

Explanation:

Este es un ejercicio de péndulo simple, donde la velocidad angular esta dada por

          w = \sqrt{ \frac{g}{L} }

la velocidad angular esta relacionada con el periodo

         w =2π/T

sustituimos

         \frac{2\pi }{T} = \sqrt{ \frac{g}{L} }2pi/T = Ra g/L

         T² = 4\pi ^2  \frac{ L}{g}

          g = 4\pi ^2 \ \frac{L}{T^2}

el periodo es el tiempo de una oscilación completa, osea desde el punto donde se suelta hasta que regresa al mismo punto, en este caso tenemos medio periodo, desde donde se suelta hasta donde se detiene

       T/2 = 1,9

       T = 2  1,9

       T = 3,8 s

calculemos

        g = 4π²  1,5 /3,8²

        g = 4,10 m/s

If you ride an elevator moving forward with a constant speed, is your apparent weight same,greater than or less than your weight
wlad13 [49]
If the elevator's speed is constant (in ANY direction) and you can't see out of it, then there's NO measurement you can make inside that will tell you that it's moving. Any weight you measure is normal.

Consider a step-down transformer with 15 turns in the primary and 6 turns in the secondary windings. Calculate the input impedan
AURORKA [14]

Answer:

Input impedance of this transformer is 50 ohms.

Explanation:

Given that,

Number of turns in the primary coil, N_p=15

Number of turns in the secondary coil, N_s=6

Output impedance of the transformer, V_o=8\ \Omega

The number of turns and the impedance ratio in the step down transformer is given by :

\dfrac{15}{6}=\sqrt{\dfrac{Z_p}{Z_s}}\\\\\dfrac{15}{6}=\sqrt{\dfrac{Z_p}{8}}\\\\Z_p=50\ \Omega

So, the input impedance of this transformer is 50 ohms. Hence, this is the required solution.

If a rock is thrown upward on the planet Mars with a velocity of 10 ms, its height in meters seconds later is given by (a) Find
Delicious77 [7]

Answer:

1) X(t)=Xo+So(t)+\frac{1}{2} g(t)^{2}

2) S(Δt)=So+g(Δt)

Explanation:

I think the equation they gave you for the Height upon time in seconds it's (1), where if you see, you will find the gravity, that you should multiply by 2 because, its divided by two in (1) (that should be your (a)), then, once you find your gravity, you can use the equation (2) to know the Final Speed replacing g , at the time asked, remember that g is gravity, and Δt is the: final time- initial time.

so in the [1,2] interval of time, your Δt=1s, and in [1,1.5] is Δt=0,5s.

i hoped it helped you even though i cant give you the exact answer right now.
