Answer: - 3.43 m/s^2

Explanation:

1) Acceleration = [change in speed] / [time elpased]

2) Change in speed = final speed - initial speed

Since the car comes to a complete stop, the final speed is 0

3) time = 7 seconds

4) Calculation:

acceleration = [ 0 m/s - 24 m/s] / 7 s = - 24 m/s / 7 s = - 3.43 m/s/s or - 3.43 m/s^2

The negative sign means that the car decelerated.

How are balanced & unbalanced forces related to net force?
Levart [38]

Answer:

An unbalanced force (net force) acting on an object changes its speed and/or direction of motion. ... A net force = unbalanced force. If however, the forces are balanced (in equilibrium) and there is no net force, the object will not accelerate and the velocity will remain constant.

Describe the Compton Effect
Nana76 [90]

Compton scattering, discovered by Arthur Holly Compton, is the scattering of a photon after an interaction with a charged particle, usually an electron. If it results in a decrease in energy of the photon, it is called the Compton effect. Part of the energy of the photon is transferred to the recoiling electron.
