Write an argument to defend whether tomato plant or spinach offspring would be more genetically diverse. Remember that the tomat
JulijaS [17]

Answer:

spinach plants will be more genetically diverse than tomato plants because sexual reproduction generates more genetic diversity than asexual reproduction

Explanation:

In nature, there are two basic mechanisms of reproduction: sexual reproduction and asexual reproduction. Genetic variation can be generated by the following mechanisms: mutations, random fertilization, recombination (i.e., crossing over), and the independent assortment of homologous chromosomes during meiosis. Sexual reproduction involves two parents, thereby new genetic variation can be generated in the offspring through all these mechanisms: new mutations, genetic recombination (which generates new alleles within an organism's offspring), random fertilization, and the random (independent) assortment of homologous chromosomes during meiosis (these last two mechanisms can potentially generate new genetic combinations in the offspring). Moreover, asexual reproduction involves a single parent, and thereby in this case genetic variation can be only generated by mutations that are passed on to offspring.

The researchers observed a random sample of mating pairs. The spiders had all been identified and measured before the mating occ
pentagon [3]

Answer:

Null hypothesis: male and female spiders organized in mating pairs don't differ significantly in respect to body length

Alternative hypothesis: male and female spiders organized in mating pairs exhibit significant differences in respect to body length

The application of one statistical test in order to obtain one p-value (probability value) may provide useful evidence to support the alternative hypothesis (or reject it).

The inference procedure uses the information collected from the sample in order to obtain one conclusion. Frequentism is a type of inference procedure that can be used to test a hypothetical test case, which is here represented by male and female spiders organized in mating pairs.

What species originally eliminated the wolves in yellowstone so that they had to be reintroduced?.
kakasveta [241]

The name of the species that eliminated the wolves in Yellowstone so that they had to be reintroduced is humans.

In the olden times, people were unaware about the importance of natural ecosystems and the worth of each organism being part of an ecosystem. An expansion in an area caused the wild predators to come close to domestic livestock during the 1800's. The wolves began using these domestic animals as a source of nutrition. The humans, in order to protect their livestock, killed wolves.

It was as late as the 1970's when efforts started to being made to protect endangered species. These efforts caused the reintroduction of the wolves in Yellowstone.

Place the following events that occur at the vertebrate neuromuscular junction in the correct order. I Depolarization of the mus
meriva

Answer:

Generation of an action potential in the neuron.

Stimulation of Ca2+ entry into the neuron

Release of acetylcholine into the synapse

Depolarization of the muscle fiber membrane

Explanation:

The following events takes place in the vertebrate neuromuscular junction

a) Nerve Action Potential - Action potential reaches the axon terminal

b) Entry of calcium ion - The calcium ion reaches the axon terminal and enter into the presynaptic terminus after which the Synaptic vesicles fuse with the membrane of axon terminal

c) Releasing of Arch Quanta - Acetylcholine is released into synaptic cleft which then binds to the receptor sites on motor end plate

d) The Na+/K+ channels opens and Motor end plate becomes depolarized.
