For each set of values, calculate the missing variable using the ideal gas law.
allsm [11]

Answer:

1. n = 0.174mol

2. T= 26.8K

3. P = 1.02atm

4. V = 126.88L

Explanation:

1. P= 2.61atm

V = 1.69L

T = 36.1 °C = 36.1 + 273= 309.1K

R = 0.082atm.L/mol /K

n =?

n = PV / RT = (2.61x1.69)/(0.082x309.1)

n = 0.174mol

2. P = 302 kPa = 302000Pa

101325Pa = 1atm

302000Pa = 302000/101325 = 2.98atm

V = 2382 mL = 2.382L

T =?

n = 3.23 mol

R = 0.082atm.L/mol /K

T= PV /nR = (2.98x2.382)/(3.23x0.082) = 26.8K

3. P =?

V = 0.0250 m³ = 25L

T = 288K

n = 1.08mol

R = 0.082atm.L/mol /K

P = nRT/V = (1.08x0.082x288)/25 = 1.02atm

4. P = 782 torr

760Torr = 1 atm

782 torr = 782/760 = 1.03atm

V =?

T = 303K

n = 5.26 mol

R = 0.082atm.L/mol /K

V = nRT/P

V = (5.26x0.082x303)/1.03 = 126.88L

Which best describes nuclear fission
Firlakuza [10]
Nuclear fission is either a nuclear reaction or radio active decay process in which nucleus (the center) of an atom splits into smaller parts called nuclei. This is an extremely exothermic reaction (i.e a reaction which produces heat) resulting into release of massive amount of energy in the form of heat and sometimes light. The reaction produces much more energy as compared to a similar mass of a conventional fuel, such as Petrol/Kerosene/Petroleum Gas etc. This makes Nuclear fission an extremely dense and at times very destructive source of energy. Some common elements capable of Nuclear fission are Uranium, Plutonium etc. Though in modern days Nuclear Fission are finding application in being a source of energy (such as a Nuclear power plant), but they are also used in destructive format as Nuclear Bombs and it's one of the top most imminent threats to the existence of humanity in future (in the event of a Nuclear war).

Which of the following are strongly hydrogen bonded in the liquid phase? A) nitrilesB) esters C) secondary amides D) acid chlori
-Dominant- [34]

Answer: Option (C) is the correct answer.

Explanation:

Chemical formula of a secondary amide is R'-CONH-R, where R and R' can be same of different alkyl or aryl groups. Here, the hydrogen atom of amide is attached to more electronegative oxygen atom of the C=O group.

Therefore, the hydrogen atom will be more strongly held by the electronegative oxygen atom. As a result, there will be strongly hydrogen bonded in the liquid phase of secondary amide.

Whereas chemical formula of nitriles is RCN, ester is RCOOR' and acid chlorides are RCOCl. As no hydrogen bonding occurs in any of these compounds because hydrogen atom is not being attached to an electronegative atom.

Thus, we can conclude that secondary amides are strongly hydrogen bonded in the liquid phase.

How many protons and electrons are present in Au+?
balandron [24]

Answer:

Protons: 79

Electrons: 78

Explanation:

1. The number of protons is the atomic number (The atomic number for Au on the periodic table is 79)

2. Since the charge is +1 (positive) it means that there's one more proton than electrons. So, 79-1 = 78 electrons
