Answer

QR= PQ= PR

18x+1= 24x-17

18x-24x= -17-1

-6x= -18

x= 3

QR= 24(3)-17= 55

PQ= 18(3)+1= 55

PR= 15(3)+10=55

Answer:

The value of x is 3. The length of PQ, QR and PR are 55.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that the lengths in an equilateral triangle are all the same. We can assume that PQ = QR = PR. So we can choose any 2 lengths and compare it :

PQ = QR

18x + 1 = 24x - 17

1 + 17 = 24x - 18x

6x = 18

x = 18 \div 6

x = 3

Next, we have to substitute x = 3 into the expressions :

PQ = 18(3) + 1 = 55

QR = 24(3) - 17 = 55

PR = 15(3)  + 10 = 55

A box's volume is equal to 600 cubic
olga2289 [7]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Length = x

width = x - 7

height = x - 10

volume = 600 in^3

Volume = L * w * h

600 = x * (x - 7)*(x - 10)

600 = x * (x^2 - 17x + 70)

600 = x^3 - 17x^2 + 70x

x^3 - 17x^2 + 70x - 600 = 0

There is a genius somewhere that could solve this using algebra. The rest of us have 2 choices. We can graph it (see below) or we could use a program that solves it for us. I'll do both for you.

a = 1

b  = - 17

c = 70

d = - 600

There is only 1 real solution: x = 15

L = 15

w = 8

h = 5

That has to be one of the ugliest graphs made. It does into the hundreds of thousands and it still looks like a straight line. Trust me. It's not.

MAT1033 HELP ! 8x+12y=9
nadya68 [22]
  • Slope-Intercept form: y = mx + b, with m = slope and b = y-intercept

The easiest method to find the slope and y-intercept is to convert this standard form equation to slope-intercept form. Firstly, subtract 8x on both sides of the equation: 12y=-8x+9

Next, divide both sides by 12, and your slope-intercept form is: y=-\frac{2}{3}x+\frac{3}{4}

Now looking at this slope-intercept form, we can see that the <u>slope is -2/3 and the y-intercept is (0, 3/4).</u>

A safe has a 4-digit lock code that does not include zero as a digit and no digit is repeated. What is the probability of a lock
Elenna [48]
Probability of lock code with all even digits =  (4/9) ^ 4 =  256/6561 = 0.039

So probabiilty of lock without all even digits = 1 - 0.039  =  0..961.
