The electron configuration of Ca⁺² is most similar to that of Ar(Argon)

Further explanation

In an atom, there are levels of energy in the shell and sub-shell

This energy level is expressed in the form of electron configurations.

Writing electron configurations starts from the lowest to the highest sub-shell energy level. There are 4 sub-shells in the shell of an atom, namely s, p, d, and f. The maximum number of electrons for each sub-shell is

 • s: 2 electrons
 • p: 6 electrons
 • d: 10 electrons and
 • f: 14 electrons

Charging electrons in the sub-shell uses the following sequence:

1s², 2s², 2p⁶, 3s², 3p⁶, 4s², 3d¹⁰, 4p⁶, 5s², 4d¹⁰, 5p⁶, 6s², etc.

Calcium (symbol Ca) is an alkaline earth metal element with an atomic number of 20, so the number of electrons is 20 (for neutral atoms)

The electron configuration of Ca : [Ar] 4s² ⇒ 1s² 2s² 2p⁶ 3s²3p⁶4s²

For the Ca²⁺ cation, which has a +2 charge, it is obtained by removing 2 electrons, so that the electron configuration is the same as for the element Ar (argon): 1s² 2s² 2p⁶ 3s²3p⁶

Which indicator most likely suggests that a chemical change is taking place? 1)change in size 2)change of color 3)change of stat
Tresset [83]

Out of the options, the best indicator is a color change since it is the only one that can't really be blamed on a physical change. you will eventually notice that during qualitative labs and some quantitative labs, usually the thing that you are looking for is either color change or the production of a precipitate to indicate the presence of a chemical reaction

A student isolated 15.6 g of product from a chemical reaction. She calculated that the reactions should have produced 18.4 g of
Snezhnost [94]

Answer:

The percent yield of this reaction is 84.8 % (option A is correct)

Explanation:

Step 1: Data given

The student isolated 15.6 grams of the product = the actual yield

She calculated the reaction should have produced 18.4 grams of product = the theoretical yield = 18.4 grams

Step 2: Calculate the percent yield

Percent yield = (actual yield / theoretical yield ) * 100 %

Percent yield = (15.6 grams / 18.4 grams ) * 100 %

Percent yield = 84.8 %

The percent yield of this reaction is 84.8 % (option A is correct)

The question is below!
Agata [3.3K]
The anode is the negative electrode and so will be donating electrons to assist in this chemical reaction occuring. All reactions accept electrons as reactants. The key issue is the reduction potential Eo (+1.8V). This is greatest for the reaction:

Co3+ + e -> Co2+

Therefore this reaction has the greatest tendency to occur.
