Which characteristic does an object with a constant acceleration always have?

Physics

Answer: Changing velocity

Explanation:

By definition acceleration is the variation of velocity Vin time. If we do an inverse operation, we will find velocity is the integral of acceleration a:

V= \int\limits^t_0 {a} \, dt (1)

Solving and taking into account acceleration is constant:

V= at + V_{o} (2)

Being V_{o} the initial velocity which was the resultant constant from the integration.

From (2) we can see the equation is similar to the equation of the line y=mx+b, where a in this case is the slope. This means there is a linear variation in velocity when acceleration is constant.

In diving to a depth of 308 m, an elephant seal also moves 579 m due east of his starting point. What is the magnitude of the se
Kisachek [45]

Answer:

655.82m

Explanation:

By tracing the distances traveled from 308m down in the water and then 579m to the east, a right triangle can be formed and the displacement can be found by the Pythagorean theorem. This is shown in the attached image (the red line is the displacement).

One leg of the triangle will be the 308m

and the second leg of the triangle will be the 579m.

If we call the displacement x, by the pythagorean theorem:

x=\sqrt{308^2+579^2}

x=\sqrt{94,864+335,241}

x=\sqrt430,105}

x=655.82m

The displacement is 655.82m

how long does it take a 750watt heater operating at full rating to rais the temperature of 1kg of water From 40°C to 70°C {S.H.C
siniylev [52]

Answer:

168 seconds (2 min 48 s)

Explanation:

Find the heat absorbed by the water.

q = mCΔT

q = (1 kg) (4200 J/kg/K) (70°C − 40°C)

q = 126,000 J

Power is energy per time.

P = q / t

750 W = 126,000 J / t

t = 168 s

It takes 168 seconds (2 min 48 s).

A vehicle in for repair has a burst upper radiator tank. Technician A says thermostat that was stuck in the open position could
Morgarella [4.7K]

Answer:

Technician B

Explanation:

A thermostat being stuck in an open position allows coolant to constantly circulate through the radiator which will cause a drop in the temperature of the engine. Hence, thermostat being stuck in an open position has nothing to do with burst upper radiator.

On the other hand, a radiator cap controls the pressure within the radiator which needs to be kept constant in order prevent overheating or damage to the radiator itself.

Therefore, technician B is correct.
