This is a prediction however, a whole number 5 multiplied by a mixed number 1 1/2 is the same as multiplying 2 mixed numbers 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 the same because if you turn this 1 and 1/2 into an improper fraction ( 3/2 it's the same as 5 which can be used as 5/1 so then the improper fraction 3/2 multiplied by another 3/2 will get another mixed number. Simply a mixed number times a whole is the same as 2 mixed numbers multiplied because they both get mixed numbers as a result! I THINK

Solve for x in the equation 2 x squared + 3 x minus 7 = x squared + 5 x + 39.
Nastasia [14]

Answer:

\implies x=1\pm \sqrt{47}

Step-by-step explanation:

We want to solve for x in 2x^2+3x-7=x^2+5x+39

You need to group and combine like terms and write in standard form:

2x^2-x^2+3x-5x-7-39=0

\imples x^2-2x-46=0

By comparing to ax^2+bx+c=0, we a=1,b=-2 and c=-46

The solution can be obtained using the quadratic formula.

x=\frac{-b\pm \sqrt{b^2-4ac} }{2a}

We substitute the coefficients to get:

x=\frac{--2\pm \sqrt{(-2)^2-4*1*-46} }{2*1}

x=\frac{2\pm \sqrt{4+4*46} }{2}

x=\frac{2\pm \sqrt{4*47} }{2}

x=\frac{2\pm2\sqrt{47} }{2}

\implies x=1\pm \sqrt{47}

The last choice is correct

Suppose that the weights of 5400 registered female Labrador retrievers in the United States are distributed normally with a mean
kherson [118]

I believe the normal distribution is symmetrical above and below

the mean.  That tells us that in this kind of distribution, the mean

and the median are the same number ... 50% of the population

is below it, and 50% is above it.

So if the female Labs' weight actually follows a 'normal' distribution

with a mean of 62.5 lbs, then 2,700 of them weigh more than 62.5 lbs

and 2,700 of them weigh less than that.

The standard deviation doesn't matter.
