Kinetic energy is a form of energy that an object or a particle has by reason of its motion. If work, which transfers energy, is done on an object by applying a net force, the object speeds up and thereby gains kinetic energy.

If 0.220 molmol of a nonvolatile nonelectrolyte are dissolved in 3.70 molmol of water, what is the vapor pressure PH2OPH2O of th
Masteriza [31]

Answer:

Vapor pressure for solution is 22.4 Torr

Explanation:

P° → Vapor pressure of pure solvent

P' → Vapor pressure of solution

Formula for lowering vapor pressure is: P° - P' = P° . Xm

Xm is the mole fraction. Let's determine it:

0.220 mol of solute + 3.70 mol of water = 3.92 total moles

Mole fraction for solute → 0.220 / 3.92 = 0.056

23.8 Torr - P' = 23.8 Torr . 0.056

P' = - ( 23.8 Torr . 0.056 - 23.8 Torr ) → 22.4 Torr

Why is CCl4 classified as a non polar molecule?
Lerok [7]
CCl4 is a non polar molecule because though each of the C-Cl bond is polar but the resultant of all these dipole moments is zero as its a symmetrical tetrahedral shape molecule ,and their is a cancellation of dipole moment in each pair.

What are two properties of liquids, solids, gases and matter. What are two important things about them.
larisa86 [58]
Solids— have tightly packed molecules, structured shape

Liquid— have no definite shape and the molecules are not tightly packed like a solid, they are a lot more loose.

Gas— No structure at all, molecules are free flowing

Sorry I couldn’t be a better help.. but I hope this gives you a bit of an idea :)
