what I remember from my health class on this it should be somewhere between 60-90 percent of your MHR depending on what type of high intensity exercise your are doing such if your are starting out a new program, to increase overall strength and endurance, or increase your work capacity. The MHR can change for each one of these, but overall it should be the above.
