The differences between the democrats and republicans is that the republicans believe in a small national government with little government influence on their everyday lives and agree with things like lower taxes and growing the economy, they are socially conservative. The democrats are more socially liberal, believe in more government involvement and more progressive ideals like a higher minimum wage etc.
