<em>I am against people doing this.</em>

<em>I think it's wrong because for some reason scientists are permitted to do this but that is breaking the law. I hate how they do it because these are just innocent animals that did nothing wrong to us, our scientists just decide it's ok to go stick needles in them and put stuff on them. My biggest problem with this is that they don't care about the effects their products have on innocent animals and instead of fixing their mistake and just apply it to humans, they just keep on going like there's no tomorrow. Animals have done nothing wrong to these people and I think that it's wrong to do so. Also, I don't really think that this proves anything. An animal's skin and fur are different than a human's skin and hair so it would make no sense to test these things on them because it really is guaranteed to give an accurate answer. Animals differ from us in so many ways that you should be able to think that scientists wouldn't harm these lovely creatures, but instead, they do. Why do scientists hurt these animals? I don't want to live in a world with hurt animals, especially when some of them have World Records, like the Sea Otter.</em>

A vending machine operator has determined that the number of candy bars sold per week by a certain machine is a random variable
docker41 [41]

Answer:

The answer is below

Step-by-step explanation:

Let Y represent the profit per day, and x represent the number of bar sold per day. Hence:

Y = 0.25x - 2

a) The mean is given as:

\mu_y=E(Y)=E(0.25X-2) = 0.25E(X)-2\\\\But\ E(X)=mean\ of\ machine=125. Hence:\\\\E(Y)=0.25(125)-2=29.25\\\\E(Y)=\$29.25

b) The standard deviation of y is:

\sigma_y=var(0.25X-2)\\\\\sigma_y=0.25\sigma(X)\\\\but\ \sigma_X=7,hence:\\\\\sigma_y=0.25(7)=1.75\\\\\sigma_y=\$1.75

7.<br>(-3x³)(-2x³y⁴z)(-3z²)÷(4x³z)(-3yz) (-3xyz)
serg [7]

Answer:

-\frac{x^2y^2}{2}

Step-by-step explanation:

We have an extremely large equation and are asked to divide it, so let's solve it step-by-step :

Remove the parenthesis to make it easier to read :

\frac{-3x^3 *2x^3y^4z *3z^2}{4x^3z*3yz*3xyz}

Multiply the numerators :

\frac{-18x^6y^4z^3}{4*3*3x^3yyzzz}

Multiply the denominators :

\frac{-18x^6y^4z^3}{36x^4y^2z^3}

Apply the negative rule :

-\frac{18x^6y^4z^3}{36x^4y^2z^3}

Cancel the common factor which is 18 :

-\frac{x^6y^4z^3}{2x^4y^2z^3}

Apply the addition exponent rule :

\frac{y^4z^3x^{6-4} }{2y^2z^3}

Subtract :

\frac{x^2y^4z^3 }{2y^2z^3}

Apply the rule for y :

\frac{x^2y^{4-2} z^3 }{2z^3}

Subtract :

\frac{x^2y^2z^3 }{2z^3}

Cancel the common factor of z^3 :

-\frac{x^2y^2}{2}

Solve the formula for x<br>Gx +Hy=J
ra1l [238]

Answer:

x = \frac{J-Hy}{G}

Step-by-step explanation:

This question is from the topic subject of formula. It implies expressing x in terms of G, H y and J.

Given that: Gx + Hy = J

Subtract Hy from both sides to have;

Gx + Hy - Hy = J - Hy

⇒  Gx = J - Hy

Then divide both sides by G, so that we have;

x = \frac{J-Hy}{G}

Therefore,

x = \frac{J-Hy}{G}

F(x)=-2^2+16x-13<br><br><br> In vertex form
Llana [10]

Answer:

  • f(x) = - (x - 8)² + 51

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Assumed it is:</u>

  • f(x) = - x² + 16x - 13

<u>Converting into vertex form:</u>

  • f(x) =
  • - x² + 16x - 13 =
  • - (x² - 16x + 64 - 64) - 13 =
  • - (x - 8)² + 64 - 13 =
  • - (x - 8)² + 51

Susan, a recent college graduate, makes a base salary of $70,000 per year. Susan has federal income tax withholding of $12,000,
Damm [24]

Answer:

Susan's take-home pay <u>$48,645</u>.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Susan, a recent college graduate, makes a base salary of $70,000 per year. Susan has federal income tax withholding of $12,000, and state tax withholding of $4,000. Employers are required to withhold a 6.2% Social Security tax and a 1.45% Medicare tax.

Now, to find Susan's take-home pay.

Basic salary = $70,000.

Now, her tax withholdings:

Federal income tax = $12,000.

State tax = $4,000.

<u><em>Social security tax = 6.2% of $70,000.</em></u>

=\frac{6.2}{100} \times 70,000\\\\=0.062\times 70,000\\\\=\$4340.

<u><em>Medicare tax = 1.45% of $70,000.</em></u>

=\frac{1.45}{100} \times 70000\\\\=0.0145\times 70000\\\\=\$1015.

Now, to get the take-home pay of Susan's we subtract all the tax holdings of federal, state, social and medicare from the basic salary:

70,000-(12,000+4,000+4340+1015)

=70,000-(21,355)

=70,000-21,355

=\$48,645.

Therefore, Susan's take-home pay $48,645.
