Labels of many food products have expiration dates, at which point they are typically removed from the supermarket shelves. A pa

rticular natural yogurt degrades (reacts) with a half-life of 45 days. The manufacturer of the yogurt wants unsold product pulled from the shelves when it degrades to no more than 80% (0.8) of its original quality. Assume the degradation process is first order. What should be the "best if used before" date on the container with respect to the date the yogurt was packaged?

Answer:

Explanation:

Since it first order, we use order rate equation

In ( \frac{A1}{A0}) = -kt where A1 is the final quality = 0.8 (80%), A0 is the initial quality = 1 ( 100%)

also, t half life = \frac{In2}{k} where k is rate constant

k = \frac{In 2}{45 days} = 0.0154

In ( \frac{0.8}{1}) = - 0.0154 t

-0.223 / -0.0154 = t

t = 14.49 approx 14.5 days from the date the yogurt was packaged

According the the arrhenius theory, which species does an acid produce in an aqueous solution?
4vir4ik [10]
Note: Above question is incomplete: Complete question is read as
According the the arrhenius theory, which species does an acid produce in an aqueous solution?
A) hydrogen ions B) hydroxyl ions C) Sodium ions D) Chloride ion
.....................................................................................................................
Correct answer for above question is A) Hydrogen ions

Reason:
According the Arrhenius theory of acid and base, acid generates hydrogen ions in aqueous medium, while bases generates hydroxyl ions in aqueous medium.
Example of Acid:
HCl(aq)          →          H+(aq)    + Cl-(aq)

Example of Base:
NaOH(aq)           →          Na+(aq)       +     OH-(aq)

What process takes place before an article is published in a scientific journal/
Goshia [24]
Before an article is published in a scientific journal or in any "peer-reviewed" journal the article is reviewed thoroughly by scholars from the journal as well as peers or scholars of the articles author from the same field. This process occurs to provide credibility to the ideas being published and so that readers and other scholars can rely on the validity of the material being published.

If the mass of a material is 40 grams and the volume of the material is 9 cm^3, what would the density of the material be?
solniwko [45]
Mass = m = 40 grams
Volume = V = 9 cm³
Density = d = ?

Density is defined as the ratio of mass and volume.

So,

d = m/V

Using the values, we get

d = 40/9 = 4.44 g/cm³

This means the density of material would be 4.44 g/cm³
