Two trains, Train A and Train B weigh a total of 479 tons. Train A is heavier than Train B. The difference of their weights is
Marysya12 [62]

Answer:

A= 429

B= 50

Explanation:

A+B= 479 (take away)

A-B= 379

A-A+B+B= 479-379 (simplify)

2B= 100

I think you know how to do it now..

B=50

A=50+379 ---> 429

This is the substitution method, there are other ways of doing it- and I tried to make this simple. Hope this helped!

Find the equation of the line that contains the given point and is perpendicular to the given line . Write the equation in slope
xxTIMURxx [149]
Ok, so a line with a perpendicular slope will have the opposite reciprocal slope, meaning that if the slope on y=-4x-7 is -4, the opposite reciprocal slope would be 1/4. so, if you plug the given point into your new line,

y=1/4x+b
1=1/4(4)+b
1=1+b
b=0

so, the final equation would be y=1/4x
(i think?)

The functions s and t are defined as follows. s(x)=3x-4 t(x)=-5x+3 Find the value of s(t(-1)).
kotegsom [21]

t(x)=-5x+3

t(-1)=-5*(-1)+3=5+3=8

s(x)=3x-4

s(t(-1))=s(8)=3*8-4=24-4=20

answer is 20
