How do you round 3795 to THREE sig figs?
Margaret [11]

Answer:

The answer is 380.

Explanation:

Significant figures:

All non-zero digits are consider significant figures like 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9.

Leading zeros are not consider as a significant figures. e.g. 0.06 in this number only one significant figure present which is 6.

Zero between the non zero digits is consider significant like 108 consist of three significant figures.

The zeros at the right side e.g 6300 are also significant. There are four significant figures are present.

How to round the value to three significant figures.

First of all we will place the vertical line after 3rd digit.

379/5

Now we will look at the 4th digit. If it is five or more than five then one is added to 3rd digit. If it is less than five the 3rd digit remain same. In given value 4th digit is 5 thus one is added into 9 and the value become 380.

The answer is 380.

What would diluting the vinegar do to the rate of a reaction between vinegar and sodium hydroxide? decrease the rate of reaction
GarryVolchara [31]
Vinegar is aceti acid diluted in water.

The reaction of vinegar with sodium hydroxide is:

CH3COOH + NaOH ---> CH3COONa + H2O

That is an acid-base reaction.

The speed of reaction is proportional to the concentrations of the reactants.

Then, given thatn when you dilute the vinegar you decrease the concentration of CH3COOH, the rate of reaction will decrease.

Answer: decrease the rate of reaction.

A gas occupies 3.8 L at -18° C and 975. torr. What volume would this gas occupy at STP?
Aleks04 [339]

To solve the question we will assume that the gas behaves like an ideal gas, that is to say, that there is no interaction between the molecules. Assuming ideal gas we can apply the following equation:

PV=nRT

Where,

P is the pressure of the gas

V is the volume of the gas

n is the number of moles

R is a constant

T is the temperature

Now, we have two states, an initial state, and a final state. The conditions for each state will be.

Initial state (1)

P1=975Torr=1.28atm

V1=3.8L

T1=-18°C=255.15K

Final state(2), STP conditions

P2=1atm

T2=273.15K

V2=?

We will assume that the number of moles remains constant, so the nR term of the first equation will be constant. For each state, we will have:

\begin{gathered} \frac{P_1V_1}{T_1}=nR \\ \frac{P_2V_2}{T_2}=nR \end{gathered}

Since nR is the same for both states, we can equate the equations and solve for V2:

\begin{gathered} \frac{P_{2}V_{2}}{T_{2}}=\frac{P_1V_1}{T_1} \\ V_2=\frac{P_{1}V_{1}}{T_{1}}\times\frac{T_2}{P_2} \end{gathered}

We replace the known values:

V_2=\frac{1.28atm\times3.8L}{255.15K}\times\frac{273.15K}{1atm}=5.2L

At STP conditions the gas would occupy 5.2L. First option

Which pair of atoms has the highest electronegativity difference?
rjkz [21]

The B. Ca-F pair has the greatest electronegativity difference.

Electronegativities <em>increase from the lower left to the upper right</em> in the Periodic Table.

Ca is closest to the lower left, and F is in the upper right, so the Ca-F bond has the greatest electronegativity difference.
