Chemistry

Find moles of MgCl first by dividing by the molar mass.

21.9 g / 95.211 g/mol = 0.230 mol MgCl

Then divide by L of water to get the molarity.

0.230 mol / 0.750 L = 0.307 M MgCl

A woolly rhinocerous skeleton (Coelodonta antiquitatis) found in Poland contains 1.30% of the C-14 found in living animals. How
krok68 [10]

Answer:

The organism died 35900 years ago

Explanation:

  • Half life C-14 is 5730 years.
  • For decay of radioactive nuclides: \frac{N}{N_{0}}=(\frac{1}{2})^{\frac{t}{t_{\frac{1}{2}}}}
  • \frac{N}{N_{0}} is the fraction of radioactive nuclide remain present after t time and t_{\frac{1}{2}} is the half-life of radioactive nuclide
  • Here \frac{N}{N_{0}} is 0.013 and t_{\frac{1}{2}} is 5730 yeras

Plug-in all the values in the above equation:

0.013=(\frac{1}{2})^{\frac{t}{5730years}}

So, t = 35900 years

Hence the organism died 35900 years ago

a container holds 6.4 moles of gas. hydrogen gas makes up 25% of the total moles in the container. if the total pressure is 1.24
Mekhanik [1.2K]

The total pressure of the mixture of gases is equal to the sum of the pressure of each gas as if it is alone in the container. The partial pressure of a component of the mixture is said to be equal to the product of the total pressure and the mole fraction of the component in the mixture.<span>

Partial pressure of hydrogen gas = 1.24 atm x .25 = 0.31 atm
<span>Partial pressure of the remaining = 1.24 atm x (1-.25) = 0.93 atm </span></span>
