How do you find each y-value for y=2x-5 on a table?

Mathematics

Answer:

to find a y-value, plug in any number for x in the equation and then solve the equation for y.

if you're given a table that has x-values filled in, plug each of those in for x in order to solve for their corresponding y-value.

if the table is blank, pick whatever numbers you want to use as x-values. don't use any numbers that are astronomically large, though. i always find that the best, most basic numbers to stick with are -2, -1, 0, 1, and 2.

i hope this helps! have a lovely day <3

A line passes through the point (-2, 3) and has a slope of -2. What is the equation of the line?
Mrrafil [7]

Answer:

y = -2x -1

Step-by-step explanation:

slope intercept form is y = mx +b

m = slope, b = y intercept

point is given as ordered pair (x,y)

plug in slope into y=......

y= -2x+b

plug in the point

3 = -2 * (-2) + b

3= 4 +b subtract 4 on each side

b = -1

y = -2x -1

Kryger [21]

Answer:

He must sell 8 cards to reach the minimum goal.

Step-by-step explanation:

Giving the following information:

He wants to earn more than $50 at the fair.

He sells his cards for $2 and he has already earned $36.

First, we need to calculate the money required to reach the minimum goal:

51 - 36= $15

Now, we write the inequality:

2*x >15

x= number of cards sold.

x>15/2

x> 7.5

He must sell 8 cards to reach the minimum goal.
