Answer:

In the experiment performed involving the number of liquid drops that a penny can hold, 25 drops of substance X can fit in a penny while only 12 drops of substance Y can fit on another penny because, substance X is more viscous than substance Y. Thus, the intermolecular forces present in substance X are stronger than those present in substance Y.

Explanation:

Intermolecular forces (IMF) are the forces which exist between the neighboring molecules of a a substance. These forces, though weaker than intramolecular forces which acts between neighboring atoms, they still are responsible for several differences in the physical properties of substances with comparatively similar molecular masses.

The three major types of intermolecular forces are, hydrogen bonding, dipole–dipole interactions and  London dispersion forces.

The existence of intermolecular forces in molecules of substances results in increase in melting and boiling points, surface tension,  capillary action, viscosity, as well as surface area of substances,

Viscosity, which is the resistance to flow offered by a liquid increases with increase in the intermolecular forces between the molecules of a liquid.

BARSIC [14]

Answer:

4) 1.5 mol

Explanation:

Well, the equation is already balanced and the mole to mole ratio of reactants and products are all 1. So if the limiting reactant is HCl and you have 1.5 mol, you do the mole to mole ratio with NaCl and since it is 1 to 1, there'd be 1.5 mol of NaCl.

What is the original source of energy that is stored in the food that animals eat?
erastova [34]
Since plants turn sunlight into glucose (sugar) that humans and animals eat... the energy we get from our food comes indirectly from the sunlight.

What is the molar mass of a compound?
Masteriza [31]

Answer:

The molar mass of a compound is The mass in grams of 1 mole of the compound (Option A)

Explanation:

Let's take ammonia as an example (NH3)

Mass of N = 14 g

Mass of H = 1 g

Molar mass of ammonia is Mass of N + (Mass of H).3

14 + 3 = 17 g/m

Ammonia is a compound that has 1 mol of N, plus 3 moles of H (see the formula)

The number of atoms in 1 mole of the compound --> This is Avogadro

Based on the results you observed for the iodine test and Benedict’s test, is it better to detect enzyme activity by measuring t
dlinn [17]

Answer:

Is better use the Benedict's test by the increase in the amount of the products if the enzyme is a reductase

Explanation:

The Benedict's test works by the reaction of the reducing sugars with the ion cupric of the reactive. If the enzyme is a reductase (degrades polysaccharides into bi o monosaccharides), it should cut the polysaccharide bond and the products would react with the Benedict's cupric ion

Transverse waves have motion perpendicular to velocity, while longitudinal waves have motion parallel to velocity.

Explanation:

The correct option of all is that transverse waves have motion perpendicular to velocity while longitudinal waves have motion parallel to velocity.

A wave is a disturbance that transmits energy from one point to another. There several types of waves like sound, electromagnetic , ocean waves etc.

  • Waves can be classified as either longitudinal or transverse waves based on the direction through which they are propagated.
  • Longitudinal waves are waves propagated parallel to the source of velocity.
  • An example is sound waves and seismic p-waves.
  • They have series of rarefaction and compression along their path.
  • Transverse waves are propagated perpendicular to their source.
  • An example is electromagnetic waves in which electrical and magnetic fields vibrates perpendicularly.
