the net force acting on it. B. Objects at rest tend to stay at rest, and objects in motion tend to stay in motion unless acted on by an unbalanced force. C. Answer: is A

The acceleration of an object is determined by its mass and the net force acting on it.

Newton's second law says that "F=ma". what this means is that the force you apply to an object is equal to its mass times how fast it is accelerating.

Hope it helped.

The distance y3,red from the center of the pattern to the location of the third diffraction minimum of the red laser is 4.05 cm.
oksian1 [2.3K]

Answer:

L = a 1,929 10⁴ m

a = 0.1 mm = 0.1 10⁻³ m,     L = 1,929 m

Explanation:

The diffraction phenomenon is described by the expression

       a sin θ = m λ

Let's use trigonometry to find the breast

        tan θ = y / x

As the angles are very small

       tan θ = sin θ/ cos θ = sin θ = y / x

We replace

        a y / L = m λ

        L = a y / m λ

The red light has a wavelength of Lam = 700 nm = 700 10⁻⁹ m, in the third pattern it is m = 3

       L = a  4.05 10⁻² / (3 700 10⁻⁹)

       L = a 1,929 10⁴ m

To give a specific value we must know the width of the slit, suppose a value of  a = 0.1 mm = 0.1 10⁻³ m

       L = 1,929 m

A 225 kg block is pulled by two horizontal forces. The first force is 178 N at a 41.7-degree angle and the second is 259 N at a
yawa3891 [41]

Answer:

52.9 N, 364.7 N

Explanation:

First of all, we need to resolve both forces along the x- and y- direction. We have:

- Force A (178 N)

A_x = (178 N)(cos 41.7^{\circ})=132.9 N\\A_y = (178 N)(sin 41.7^{\circ})=118.4 N

- Force B (259 N)

B_x = (259 N)(cos 108^{\circ})=-80.0 N\\B_y = (259 N)(sin 108^{\circ})=246.3 N

So the x- and y- component of the total force acting on the block are:

R_x = A_x + B_x = 132.9 N - 80.0 N =52.9 N\\R_y = A_y + B_y = 118.4 N +246.3 N = 364.7 N

Latitude and longitude are the two coordinates that determine a specific point on the Earth’s surface. How does knowing the loca
DedPeter [7]

Answer:

hey sandra! i hope this will help you!

Explanation:

The geographic coordinate system is a reference system that uses the two angular latitude (north or south) and longitude (east or west) coordinates to determine the positions of the land surface points. These two angular coordinates measured from the center of the Earth are from a spherical coordinate system that is aligned with its axis of rotation. These coordinates are usually expressed in sexagesimal degrees:

Latitude measures the angle between any point and the equator. Latitude lines are called parallel and are circles parallel to the equator on the Earth's surface. Latitude is the distance between any point and Ecuador, measured on the meridian that passes through that point.

• All points located on the same parallel have the same latitude.

• Those who are in the north of Ecuador receive the denomination North (N).

• Those who are in the south of Ecuador receive the denomination South (S).

• It is measured from 0º to 90º.

• The latitude of 0º corresponds to Ecuador.

• The North and South poles have latitude 90º N and 90º S respectively.

The length measures the angle along the equator from any point on Earth. It is accepted that Greenwich in London is length 0 in most modern societies. The lines of length are maximum circles that pass through the poles and are called meridians.

• All points located on the same meridian have the same length.

• Those who are east of Meridian Zero receive the designation East (E).

• Those who are west of Meridian Zero receive the denomination West (O).

• It is measured from 0º to 180º.

• The Greenwich meridian corresponds to the length 0º.

By combining these two angles, the position of any point on the Earth's surface can be expressed.
