Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

f(x)=-2x+4\\g(x)=2x^2-2x-8\\(g\circ f)(x)=g(f(x))\\=g(-2x+4)\\=2(-2x+4)^2-2(-2x+4)-8\\=2(4x^2-16x+16)+4x-8-8\\=8x^2+(-32x+4x)+(32-8-8)\\=8x^2-28x+16

Help me solve # 15 & 16
makkiz [27]

Answer:

15) C=frac{5}{9}(F-32)

16) 12 hours

Step-by-step explanation:

15) F=\frac{9}{5}C+32 \\F-32 = \frac{9}{5}C\\\frac{5}{9}(F-32)=C

16) If Jim drove 168 mi in 4 hours, this means it takes him

\frac{4 hours }{168 mi}

this many hours to drive 1 mile. So if we multiply this by 504 mi:

\frac{4 hours }{168 mi} 504 mi = 4 \cdot 3 hours = 12 hours

How would you draw a counterexample to this?
NeX [460]
Melanie said:
Every angle bisector in a triangle bisects the opposite side perpendicularly.

A 'counterexample' would show an angle bisector in a triangle that DOESN'T
bisect the opposite side perpendicularly.

See my attached drawing of a counterexample.

Both of the triangles that Melanie examined have equal sides on both sides
of the angle bisector. That's the only way that the angle bisector can bisect
the opposite side perpendicularly. Melanie didn't examine enough different
triangles.
