Hi!

Neutrons are neutral, which means they don't exactly have an electrical charge. It's because of this neutral charge that it is represented with a '0'.

On the other hand, protons and electrons do have electrical charges. Electrons flow around the outside of the nucleus, with a negative charge.

Protons are stored in the nucleus with the neutrons, holding a positive charge.

Hopefully, this helps! =)

The temperature at which the velocity of sound in air is twice its velocity at 15°C
Elena L [17]

With the use of below formula, at 879 °C, velocity will be double the velocity at 15 °C.

What is the relationship between Velocity and sound ?

The velocity of sound waves in air is proportional to the square root of Thermodynamic temperature. That is, V = K\sqrt{T}

Given that the temperature at which the velocity of sound in air is twice its velocity at 15°C, Let us make use of the formula;

(v2/v1) = √(T2 / T1)

Where

  • v2 = final velocity
  • v1 = initial velocity
  • T2 = final absolute temperature
  • T1 = initial temperature.

Recall that absolute temperature = °C + 273.

If v2 = 2 × v1 and temperature in degree Celsius = 15°C, then,

Temperature in Kelvin K = 15 + 273 = 288

Substitute all the parameters into the formula

(2 × v1)/v1 = √(T2/288)

2 = √ (T2 /288)

Square both sides

4 = (T2/288)

T2 = 4 × 288

T2 = 1152K

Temperature in degrees Celsius = 1152 - 273 = 879 °C.

Therefore, at 879 °C, velocity will be double the velocity at 15 °C.

A 70-kg astronaut is space walking outside the space capsuleand is stationary when the tether line breaks. As a means of returni
Bogdan [553]

Answer:

0.4 m/s

Explanation:

Law of conservation of momentum tell us that the change in momentum of the hammer will be equal to the change in momentum of the astronaut

change in momentum of hammer = change in momentum of astronaut

2 kg (14 m/s - 0 m/s) = 70 kg * (v-0)

                                v  = 0.4 m/s

Use the impulse-momentum theorem to find how long a stone falling straight down takes to increase its speed from 5.6 m/s to 10.6
Nezavi [6.7K]

As stated, the impulse and momentum definitions will be used to later find the value of time through the force of gravity. According to the theory, the impulse formula is given as,

I = F\Delta t

Here,

F = Force

\Delta t = Change in time

Now using the impulse theorem we have that,

Change in Impulse = Change in momentum

F\Delta t = \Delta p (1)

The change in momentum is given as

\Delta p = p_f -p_i

\Delta p = (-10.6)-(-5.6)

\Delta p = -5m/s

The force due to gravity is through the Newton's second law

F_g = -mg

Here,

m = mass

g = Acceleration due to gravity

Substitute the value in (1)

-mgt = -5m/s

9.8t = 4.9

t = \frac{5}{9.8}

t = 0.51s

Therefore it will take 0.51s.
