<u>Answer:</u> The nuclear process for the splitting of U-235 nuclei is nuclear fission process.

<u>Explanation:</u>

Nuclear fission reactions are defined as the reaction in which, the heavier atoms splits into two or more lighter atoms. The number of atoms formed in this reaction increases from the given atoms.

Nuclear fusion reactions are defined as the reaction in which, two or more lighter atoms combine to form a heavier atom. The number of atoms formed in this reaction decreases from the given atoms.

Decomposition reaction is defined as the reaction in which a single large substance breaks down into two or more smaller substances.

Chain reactions are defined as the reaction in which the neutrons that are released in the previous fission reaction act as the starting material in the next reaction. Thus, this process continues to many reactions.

Ionization reaction is defined as the reaction in which an ionic compound dissociates into its ions when dissolved in aqueous solution.

The reaction for the fission of U-235 in smaller nuclei follows:

^{235}_{92}\textrm{U}\rightarrow ^{90}_{38}\textrm{Sr}+^{144}_{54}\textrm{Xe}+2^1_0\textrm{n}

Hence, the nuclear process for the splitting of U-235 nuclei is nuclear fission process.

Answer:

Final temperature of water is 83.8°C

Explanation:

In 500.0mL of a 6.00M NaOH solution, there are:

0.5000L × (6.00mol NaOH/ L) = <em>3.00moles of NaOH</em>

As the heat involved in dissolution is 44.5 kJ/mol, when the solution is dissolved:

44.5kJ/mol × 3.00moles = 133.5kJ = 133500J

Using coffee-cup calorimeter equation:

q = m×C×ΔT

<em>Where q is heat, m is mass of water (500.0g), C is specific heat of water (4.186J/g°C) and ΔT is change in temperature</em>

<em />

133500J = 500.0g×4.186J/g°C×(X-20.0°C)

63.8 = (X-20.0°C)

83.8°C = X

<em>Final temperature of water is 83.8°C</em>

Andrei [34K]
As you get higher the atmospheric pressure lowers. The pressure in the packet of crisps has the pressure at which it has been closed (pressure at the surface of the earth). This means that the air molecules in the packet press harder outside than the air molecules in the atmosphere press on the packet.
