An arrow is projected by a bow vertically up with a velocity of 40 m/s, and reaches a target in 3 s. What is the velocity of the
Fittoniya [83]

Answer:

Explanation:

Step one:

given data

initial velocity u= 40m/s

time taken t=3seconds

final velocity v=?

Step two:

applying the first equation of motion

v=u-gt---  (the -ve sign implies that the arrow is against gravity)

assume g=9.81m/s^2

v=40-9.81*3

v=40-29.43

v=10.57m/s

Step three:

how high the target is located

applying

s=ut-1/2gt^2

s=40*3-1/2(9.81)*3^2

s=120-88.29/2

s=120-44.145

s=75.86m

The light bulb transfers electrical energy into light. What is one type of energy that is also generated that is NOT a desired e
zimovet [89]

The old style (incandescent) light bulb converts more energy
into heat than it does into light.  If you're using it mainly as a
source of light, then it's a bummer, and its efficiency is very low.
BUT ... if you're using an incandescent light bulb as a heater, then
its efficiency is much better.  It all depends on your point of view.

Why is gangue sometimes reprocessed.
VLD [36.1K]

Answer:

To win some of the ore associated with them as they can become more economical to produce.

Explanation:

Sometimes gangues are reprocessed so as to win back some of the ore that are associated with them as they become more economical to produce if the price of the metal goes up.

Gangues are undesired minerals that occurs in association with the desired ore. They are usually treated as wastes in mining.

  • Often times, gangues can become economical to mine.
  • Some gangues are not totally wastes, they are just undesired materials associated with the ore.
  • Under certain economic considerations, they might become economical and augment the ore being processed.
  • The price of the metal determines if the ore in the gangue should be won.
