re of the environment may determine the sex of the offspring. Both genetics and environmental factors determine the observable, physical characteristics of organisms, also called their _______________ in genetics.

The question is asking about the observable physical characteristics of organisms.

We can eliminate options B and C because they don't make much sense. An organelle is a structure in a cell which conducts cellular functions, and the morphology of an organism is basically the anatomy and physiology of the organism, which isn't quite what we're looking for.

Keeping this in mind, here is some information on prefixes:

geno - relating to genes

pheno - relating to what's observable

The second one sounds a lot like what we're looking for, and just in case, the definition of phenotype is the set of observable characteristics of an individual resulting from the interaction of its genotype with the environment.

Therefore your answer is: A. phenotypes

A gas occupies a volume of 650.0 mL when the pressure is 3.50 atm. What will the new volume be if the pressure is reduced to 1.6
Gemiola [76]

The new volume will be 1379 mL.

Explanation:

As per Boyle's law, the product of initial volume and initial pressure of any gas molecule is equal to the product of final volume and final pressure of those molecules.

So here the initial volume is 650 ml and the initial pressure is 3.50 atm. As the temperature is said to be constant, then this system will be obeying Boyle's law. So, the final pressure is given as 1.65 atm. As there is a reduction in the pressure, the volume of the gas is tend to get expanded.

P_{1} V_{1} = P_{2} V_{2}

So, (650*10^{-3}*3.50)=(1.65*V_{2})

V_{2} = \frac{650*10^{-3}*3.50}{1.65} = 1379 mL

So, the new volume of the gas on reduction in pressure is 1379 mL.

Please i need help really quickly on this. thank you
prohojiy [21]

Answer:

the error could have been the fact that the unit for volume wasn't changed from cm³ to dm³

hence the calculation error

the solution to this would be first dividing the volume by 1000 to get that same amount in dm³ which is the standard unit to be used for volume-density calculations
