I think it’s true because potential energy can be converted into kinetic energy so, the energy stored in the nuclei of atoms can be used to generate electricity. Ofc the kinetic energy will be greater than the potential energy !

Statement A: Area of a rectangle with measured length = 2.536 mm and width = 1.4 mm.
pochemuha

Explanation:

Formula for calculating the area of a  rectangle A = Length *width

For statement A;

Given area of a rectangle with measured length = 2.536 mm and width = 1.4 mm.

Area of the rectangle = 2.536mm * 1.4mm

Area of the rectangle = 3.5504mm²

The rule of significant figures states that we should always convert the answer to the least number of significant figure amount the given value in question. Since 1.4mm has 2 significant figure, hence we will convert our answer to 2 significant figure.

Area of the rectangle = 3.6mm² (to 2sf)

For statement B;

Given area of a rectangle with measured length = 2.536 mm and width = 1.41 mm.

Area of the rectangle = 2.536mm * 1.41mm

Area of the rectangle = 3.57576mm²

Similarly, Since 1.41mm has 3 significant figure compare to 2.536 that has 4sf, hence we will convert our answer to 3 significant figure.

Area of the rectangle = 3.58mm² (to 3sf)

Based on the conversion, it can be seen that 3.6mm²  is greater than 3.58mm², hence the area of rectangle in statement A is greater than the area of the rectangle in statement B.

A cat dozes on a stationary merry-go-round, at a radius of 5.7 m from the center of the ride. Then the operator turns on the rid
tatyana61 [14]

Answer:

0.76

Explanation:

we are given:

radius (r) =5.7 m

speed (s) = 1 revolution in 5.5 seconds

acceleration due to gravity (g) = 9.8 m/s^{2}

coefficient of friction (Uk) = ?

 we can get the minimum coefficient of friction from the equation below

centrifugal force = frictional force

m x r x ω^{2} = Uk x m x g

r x ω^{2} = Uk x g

Uk = \frac{ r x ω^{2} }{g}

where ω (angular velocity) = \frac{2π}{time}

= \frac{2π }{5.5} = 1.14

Uk = \frac{ 5.7 x 1.14^{2} }{9.8} = 0.76

Suppose that you have a 680 Ω, a 720 Ω and a 1.20 kΩ resistor. (a) What is the maximum resistance you can obtain by combining th
Delvig [45]

Explanation:

As the given data is as follows.

    R_{1} = 680 \ohm ohm\ohm,    R_{2} = 720 \ohm ohm,

   R_{3} = 1.2 k\ohm = 1200 \ohm   (as 1 k ohm = 1000 m)

(a)   We will calculate the maximum resistance by combining the given resistances as follows.

      Max. Resistance = R_{1} + R_{2} + R_{3}

                                  = (680 + 720 + 1200) \ohm ohm

                                  = 2600 ohm

or,                               = 2.6 k\ohm ohm

Therefore, the maximum resistance you can obtain by combining these is 2.6 k\ohm ohm.

(b)   Now, the minimum resistance is calculated as follows.

      Min. Resistance = \frac{1}{R_{1}} + \frac{1}{R_{2}} + \frac{1}{R_{3}}

                                 = \frac{1}{680} + \frac{1}{720} + \frac{1}{1200}

                                 = 3.683 \times 10^{-3} ohm

Hence, we can conclude that minimum resistance you can obtain by combining these is 3.683 \times 10^{-3} ohm.

An object of irregular shape has a characteristic length of L = 0.5 m and is maintained at a uniform surface temperature of Ts =
goblinko [34]

Answer:

The value of the average convection coefficient is 20 W/Km².

Explanation:

Given that,

For first object,

Characteristic length = 0.5 m

Surface temperature = 400 K

Atmospheric temperature = 300 K

Velocity = 25 m/s

Air velocity = 5 m/s

Characteristic length of second object = 2.5 m

We have same shape and density of both objects so the reynold number will be same,

We need to calculate the value of the average convection coefficient

Using formula of  reynold number for both objects

R_{1}=R_{2}

\dfrac{u_{1}L_{1}}{\eta_{1}}=\dfrac{u_{2}L_{2}}{\eta_{2}}

\dfrac{h_{1}L_{1}}{k_{1}}=\dfrac{h_{2}L_{2}}{k_{2}}

Here, k_{1}=k_{2}

h_{2}=h_{1}\times\dfrac{L_{1}}{L_{2}}

h_{2}=\dfrac{q}{T_{2}-T_{1}}\times\dfrac{L_{1}}{L_{2}}

Put the value into the formula

h_{2}=\dfrac{10000}{400-300}\times\dfrac{0.5}{2.5}

h_{2}=20\ W/Km^2

Hence, The value of the average convection coefficient is 20 W/Km².
